Very positively? I don't remember any cleavage or high heels in that game, so it's okay - no nazism found.

Jesus they are literally laying the murder of 49 people at the feet of PewDiePie lmao

This is the ultimate fuel for their confirmation bias. Finally all of their wasted time on whining about evil gaming forums and the nazism of Dead Or Alive Volleyball has been vindicated.

It's the same sentiment as laying everything at the feet of gamergate, as if the average person knew or had anything to do with it

It's an attempt to make the only thing they focus on relevant/important on the global stage, rationalize a way for them to matter

Or another way to look at it is a mirror to "oh crazy, I was just in that town last week," "oh jesus I was just on the phone with someone who stayed in a hotel there once"

It's all about you and your proximity to Events of Importance

"I've been discussing terrible youtubers on forums for years now and look what has happened"

"oh wow stay safe"

I'm just sad they're letting PewDiePie distract them when he's already been fingered, we know he did it, we can arrest him at any time.

Meanwhile, we still don't know who THQNordic sent out to negotiate with the terrorists to acquire Ms.Galaxy's pornography videos from. We don't even know how many people were involved!

No, it was one that is more linked to a British TV series, or an historical British uniform or something. Nothing Nazi about it.

And this isn't in any way a defense of him. I find him absolutely revolting. But we need to talk about the facts and not stuff like the KKK thing or a nazi uniform because it takes focus away from the real shit he's done.

We know one thing that helps an extremist radicalize some young idiot is a shared sense of victimhood, and one thing that makes people feel victimized is baseless character assassination.

So why are people on ERA fueling the fires of radicalization by focusing their ire on PDP? This may be LITERALLY what the terrorist wanted.

I only have a cursory knowledge of people like Shapiro, PDP, Boogie etc due to Era. I feel like I’m really shielded from this shit since I’m not on Twitter and barely use YouTube and social media.

I’ve watched a couple of Contrapoints videos just to better understand their “playbook” but to see it ultimately culminate into a tragedy of this magnitude and to have these smokescreen tactics deployed to mask their part in cultivating these scum is sickening to see. We live in such sad fucking times man. I’ve been down all morning from this shit.

Actually, its incredibly disrespectful to not analyze where this shooting came from, and PDP is one of many ingredients that led to it. So take your "hopes and prayers"-equivalent bullshit to a different fucking forum that likes burying its head in the sand or outright lying about the alt-right.
Quote
If only this had been addressed in the eighteen pages like thirty other times already...
Quote
I think I already wrote this three times on this thread but, this is not blaming PDP on what happened, and if you care about the other details, on EtcetERA you can find a general thread about the situation. What is being discussed here is how people like PewDiePie and the Alt-Right enables hate speech/white supremacy and his spreading while doing next to nothing about it, making all this stuff normalized under the "is just memes" banner.
Quote
Literally NOBODY is blaming him for this, but the fact that the person who did this looks up to him and shouted him out before doing this should be MORE than enough for him to step back and realize the horrible influence he is on young people. What would be the harm in him taking a year or two break from the internet and kind of waiting until this cult of personality around him has died down? What would be so bad about that? Him continuing on with his Youtube channel after this is WAY more disrespectful to the victims than any kind of discussion about his influence will ever be.

The real scourge is the rise of anti-PC and anti-"SJW" communities. We're not more easily offended. We're just louder because we have the same tools that people who spread bigotry do. We have the opportunity to say the truth and the true nemesis of our progress isn't our anger or emotions or our lack of "civility" but apathy and the excusing or disguising of hate speech as some how reasonable.
