other than how it was famed Unreal Expert Brianna Wu, i took an interest in her campaign because it was a Twitter person entering politics almost randomly at a high level and thinking they could tweet their way into office
she was originally running on her record as a technology expert, but nobody cared so she tried to suck up to the Justice Democrats to get their endorsement and help but she refused to do anything they said after tweeting out that she now supported MedicareForAll so they abandoned her, i don't remember if she even managed to get their endorsement
there were some reports from people who worked on the campaign that voters were confusing her with Michelle Wu who is a somewhat popular Boston area politician and then when told no "BRIANNA WU, video game creator" they wouldn't talk to people anymore
i have no idea what her campaign plan is this time, she burned everybody that offered to help last time i can't imagine they come back for a second run, the people who worked for her were saying that she refused to do any local events or media and just wanted to do national news interviews about GamerGate or misogyny in tech companies, etc. or tweet, it was only after polling came out that she actually started showing up to local party events because it was allowing the incumbent to ignore them all and she was getting offended that the events weren't being rescheduled and reorganized to focus on her appearing
i trust most of the accounts i have seen from "campaign staff" because they sound normal about first time candidates in general, plus additionally sound like things Wu has always done or people who immediately run for high office expecting to win, the one guy who posted quite a bit of stuff on Kiwifarms after someone tracked him down and answered a lot of questions after getting "fired" from her campaign weeks after he quit said positive things about her husband (which fits with Revolution 60 stories) and said he's worked for worse candidates but he saw the writing on the wall because she didn't care and wouldn't listen to anybody and that always was a failing campaign in his experience but he still supported her and hoped she won the primary, learned from it, etc.
also like Revolution 60 she hired a bunch of people off a party list, then realized that cost money, and they kept quitting on her, the campaign got better after her husband essentially took over, i dunno what he sees in her but Frank seems like a pretty cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything
Frank Wu > Frank O'Connor
probably writes better sci-fi too
