If she's right, this is being pretty pedantic.

The issue is the use of a slur. Talking about LKD in this way is clouding that needlessly.

If she's wrong, you can talk about reactionary journalism.

This defensive reaction many seem to be adopting is premature and disconcerting.

Frankly, I find this information worth getting out sooner rather than later so that people who have a problem with it don't purchase the DLC.

She asked for comment, if she's wrong she can retract.

She didn’t put out “anything,” she published this story. If she’s wrong, she’ll be embarrassed and it will effect her credibility. If she’s right (and I believe she is), she acted swiftly to inform potential buyers of what they would be supporting by purchasing the DLC.

I know which of those two options I value more.

I'm not sure if isolation from your support network is the best idea.  And I assume they are joking about it.  Let me just post this interview tidbit from Zed himself.

Quote
Bobcat Goldthwait was good friends with Robin Williams and when people ask him if they ever talked about suicide?

"We're comedians, we talked about suicide for 33 years.  Occasionally we'd talk about other things.  I'd say Hey, congrats on the Oscar."

"Oh thank you."

"So how would you do it?"

"Oh, car in the garage, definitely a car."

But Robin Williams did do the deed so I'm not sure my advice works.

Robin Williams killed himself because he had some form of neurodegenerative disease, so it's quite a different situation.

I'm sure the LBD didn't help, but family members always try to claim that their loved ones weren't in control of their faculties when they committ suicide. I suppose it's what they think they ought to say to avoid shame.

I wonder if people who stopped saying the "n-word" when Emmett Till was murdered, or William Lewis Moore, or the Rev. Bruce Klunder or Andrew Goodman would have been called "Too Woke Tryhard SJWs" if they'd been murdered today where the risk was being Twitter ratioed (thanks to their actual sacrifices) instead of murdered during the civil rights movement.
Comparing the n word in the context of the sustained evil of anti black violence to peeps using the term chick flick.

Yeah that’s the angle.

I guess i'm saying that i see suicide in bad cases of degenerative diseases (with no hope of a cure, and depending on the situation) as closer to a form of euthanasia, but when you're dealing with depression (especially self diagnosed, which can mean just a mild form of it, exacerbated by a bad environment) it's a very different beast.
From what i understand of Williams' situation, he was more in the former camp, rather than the latter.

I know I wouldn't want to ride it 'till the end, if i knew my mind was going to slowly but surely erode away day by day.

It's a subset of films marketed to women that are designed to be thematically simple and to not challenge the audience at all. The fact they still make chick flicks is far more offensive than the term 'chick flicks'

The few good ones like When Harry Met Sally and 10 Things I Hate About You were made to be enjoyed by both men and women

I firmly believe deciding whether or not to committ suicide should always be your own choice and no-one else's.

The people robotically parroting that useless suicide hotline have zero understanding of how depression functions, especially if you're at the point of seriously considering suicide.  The OP is probably faking it for attention anyway like every other suicide thread on GAF/REE.

You might as well post a youtube tutorial on how to not kill yourself if all you're gonna do is put some bullshit phone number.
