If you mean not wanting to wage slave or work to live, feel that your time would be more productive doing other things that doesn’t come with a salary(like a lot of volunteer work or being a homemaker or in home primary care taker for family), Pursuing other avenues like creativity or personal enrichment/enlightenment, continuous education, or exploring the world and breathing in what it means to be alive? Sure it’s normal and also the goal I feel society should be working towards so those are option and avenues everybody has access to not just the privileged.

On the other hand if you mean not just not have a job but literally staying put and doing nothing but consume, with no desire to better yourself or the world around, with absolutely no desire to be productive in any shape or form not even for self growth or interest than yeah that’s not only bad but unhealthy and indicates a lack of connection to anyone or anything at best, serious issues at worst that you should probably seek help for if that’s how you truly feel.

I think society is missing balance in terms of life/work. I think we need to reevaluate the 8 hour/5 days work week, since more and more studies are showing humans can be more productive and happier with less hours.

How does that work for any job other than office jobs? You can't have healthcare workers, retail workers, teachers, firefighters, etc work less hours without needing a ton of extra workers to fill in the lost hours.

If only there were millions of unemployed people from which we could employ...

I hope he's OK and I hope his passengers are OK but there's nothing normal about being picked up by your security people and taken to your house for medical care so that aspect of the thread rests solely on that decision.
