I can't wait for Era to agree the Disney© apology is enough in this case.

Of course, you have to take into account all the good things that Disney has done while paying women less.

For example, where would Black Americans be today without Black Panther?

Candidate x liked a racist meme once.
Canceled.
Candidate x did blackface three times.
Canceled!!!
It was Justin Trudeau.
Now wait a minute. He was only in his 20s! Context. He really likes costumes. His economic policies are 5% less neoliberal than his main opponent's!

Trudeau was the victim because he grew up in a culture of white privilege established/protected by the conservatives.

Complain about how men have it bad because they are 'expected' to do physical undesirable labor (as if having the option to make money from physical labor is worse than not having it), then whine about how migrants are stealing all the low-skilled labor, brehs.

Democrats are "anti-war" so long it's the other party fucking things up.

Since that fucker has been an Anti-war Democrat since they were 9, they'd remember a time when Democrats like Michael Moore protested the Iraq War while Bush was president but for some reason forgot about it when Obama became president and the war didn't end. They'd make excuses for Obama drones with things like,"oh, but that means American soldiers lives aren't being lost."

Which tells you everything you need to know about American politics: it's a team sport. Not about actual values.

But it's such a brave stance to be anti-war. Just remember WW2 and how they tried to avoid meddling into european affairs. It's not like that fella Hitler had to be stopped. I wish the US never got involved. I am brave.

Anti-war doesn't mean you shouldn't ever get involved because that's simply not realistic.

It's about maybe not invading other countries to promote our values (Korea, Vietnam), usurping actual regimes and replacing them with puppets, and acting as an evil imperialist machine shooting drones at leagues of brown people abroad that includes man, woman, and child because of "terrorist lists".

Either way. For as anti-war the Democrats claim to be it's pretty clear they're pro-imperialist.

It really fucked with my head how much I was against the Iraq War and how Democrats flipped entirely once Obama became President. It has influenced my politics completely and is probably the biggest influence on my politics and how I view American political discourse. I really wish I could just register independent but it's not possible in my state.

You can't be like: I'm anti-war when I have been presented with all the facts postmortem. That's an easy call to make. Anti-war sentiments existed long before Korea and Vietnam, including WWI and WWII. Turns out most of the anti-war sentiment died when Hitler backstabbed the commies and they were like "hold up!"

What you describe is either anti-imperialism as nachobro says.

PS: Btw what I was saying is that the hands-off approach of the US on WWII was not good for Europe. In hindsight, we can all agree to that. However, if they actually intervened we'd have scholars saying how the interventionism of the US left Europe in a sorry state.

Question, are you American or Canadian?

Just curious about context. As with our history vs yours, while blackface is a very bad look and awful history - it's a different history than the US where it was a lot more significant. What would be bad to our history is if he was wearing a First Nations tribal head dress in a satirical/mocking way. But most Americans wouldn't bat an eye at "Cowboys and Indian" costumes, but that would be a very bad look for a Canadian leader imo. So cultural context from the country you're in is important.

Well, he is:

Believes that the police, left unchecked, are actually getting away with murder and need more oversight.

So he's left on some issues, and pathetically right wing on others. Got it, I wouldn't call it absurd hyperbole though when he helps the right more often than not by bolstering shitty narratives about leftists.

Pro-gun legislation, including buyback programs

The list goes on and on. Does that sound like a Republican to you?
So he's left on some issues, and pathetically right wing on others. Got it, I wouldn't call it absurd hyperbole though when he helps the right more often than not by bolstering shitty narratives about leftists.

 :lol

He thinks he's purified, but he isn't.  Still impure.

More absolute stupidity from ERA. Bill Maher is in no way a Republican.

Cindi is a republican, Cindi hates fat people.  Bill Maher hates fat people, Bill Maher is a republican.  Never forget the era transitive property :smug
Bill Maher is also white

Does that mean...  :pika

I've been an anti-war Democrat since I was about nine or ten years old. We still exist.

 :ego :snob

Democrats are "anti-war" so long it's the other party fucking things up.

Since that fucker has been an Anti-war Democrat since they were 9, they'd remember a time when Democrats like Michael Moore protested the Iraq War while Bush was president but for some reason forgot about it when Obama became president and the war didn't end. They'd make excuses for Obama drones with things like,"oh, but that means American soldiers lives aren't being lost."

Which tells you everything you need to know about American politics: it's a team sport. Not about actual values.

As a fan of Michael Moore since his TV Nation days - when FWIW he was heavily critical of Clintons Gulf War 1 - I'm assuming you're picking him out because you're on an anti-fat tilt, but he openly criticised Obamas drone strikes and suggested his Nobel Peace Prize should be removed.

He also accurately predicted that Hilary would lose and Trump would win, and the reasons why, when most left wing commentators assumed that Clinton 2 was in the bag

Bill Maher is an Islamophobe, but they never point out that he's also a Christophobe.

Guess one isn't cool and the other is

Yeah why is it a surprise Maher doesn't like Islam? He doesn't like any religion and even made a stupid movie about how much he hates religion.
