My stance on this
Lebron shouldn’t have to care.
His priorities are his people
You and others can go on an get outraged but don’t try to drag him into this bs.
Black people are hunted and treated like shit in Amerikkka it’s sad but we can’t go and care for others when our people are hurting.
Blame White Supremacy for this malarkey not the individuals affected by it.

Honestly, in the running for worst post of 2019.

What an inefficient way to say “fuck you, got mine”

Lebron doesn't have to care, like anybody else. This is true. I don't know if he was asked to respond to the tweets by the GM of another team, but what he said made him come off uninformed himself (and hey many people don't have a clue what goes on beyond their backyard) or he does know to some degree, but decided that he doesn't want to hear it. Either way it was odd to say that the GM was uninformed when you yourself don't know what's going on or are pretending to not see because China has been good to you and you specifically on every visit. Or of course, purely because of financial reasons you would rather not upset China. That would be an unfortunate take for someone like Lebron who speaks out on injustice, but it is a possibility.

It's easy to see why someone who is informed on the situation, or lives it in a similar way would respond like Enes did to Lebron's take.

https://twitter.com/EnesKanter/status/1183949336901816326

In retrospect it may have been best for him to say he doesn't know the situation well enough to make an informed comment.

Though all this hubub over the tweet will die as soon as the season gets going. Will be nothing but minor thing for the NBA as I doubt anybody outside of China will be dropping watching it due to the league's handling of all this. This is not the end of the NBA playing in China and marketing there and broadcasting there and whatever else. The world that doesn't have any clue about China (people that don't pay any attention but might be made aware of something by proxy of sports) just got to see them flex over the NBA and that's about it.

What a fucking dumb topic.  Favreau studied with Roy Choi before shooting and had him on the set during filming and has done 2 seasons of a Netflix show with Roy and many other major chefs.

A lot of people in the hospitality industry have a lot of tattoos and bang their co-workers.  Good chefs have a rock star status and are usually pretty cool people, which explains why someone like ScarJo would bang tubby Favreau.

And LOL and the spaghetti looking "disgusting", OP on this is just another manchild whose "vast" experience with Italian food amounts to asking for extra parmesan at Sbarro.

Lol yeah after I saw him drop that little nugget of information I basically wrote him off as a overly obsessed shill or astroturfer. I haven’t been paying attention to him any more I’d wager he spends more time online posting graphs and scouting for isp data cap population projection graphs than playing games. What’s he up to now? Has anyone said anything about him not even being in Stadias current release plans?

I can name REs shills for it now Alucard, blue manifest, (Honorable mentions: klee, and thebishop)

What do you mean riotous?! Google won’t just give me 50 TFs of processing just because?! I look forward to those use cases coming to light (if they ever do) and you’ll end up needing some sorta “teraflop premium account” to utilize more than one blade. I believe nvidia is planing for $25 for 20 hours when GeForce now comes out of beta so basically a $1.25 an hour for their hardware use on top of what game/isp data costs are.

I mean I’ll always choose local gaming as long as I can (pc gamer), I bet if streaming becomes main stream consoles are gonna be gone first, because nobody gatekeeps the pc market to kill if off like Sony/MS/Nintendo can on their hardware. And I pc game because of mods and freedom to game how I want. Like I can use steam, or download an exe off a indies website (gee remember how Minecraft started?). So playing stuff i can play locally but in the cloud with worse IQ and latency, and no modding allowed, doesn’t cut it for me.

What I would be interested in would be games that could only be ran via cloud compute, and even then Microsoft fight sim has shown cloud doesn’t have to be remote desktoping a rack instance. It can be a local client getting fed data (I bet a lot better latency there!). Like give me a fully destructible city (crackdown 3 for real this time anyone?) or a red dead 2 that streams in AI so the npcs are uber detailed and the missions could be insane with permutations on how they play out (machine learning? AI processing?). How about an elder scrolls that can completely change the narrative based on what you do? That kinda stuff is what cloud should be, not “we are trying to fold space and time so Pac-Man from 1983 will be at a playable latency via streaming on your iPencil.”

fuckoffffff

I think it’s that. I want to see a future where 2 billion (?) games all launch at once for their 5 blade stacked grand theft auto 8 cloud instance. Every launch gonna be like trying to get into wow classic was during launch week with 12 hour queue times. Or the entire data center will just implode over the boiling rising sea waters from the emission output.

Edit @ riotous, how is he even thinking that? I’m no expert here but wouldn’t the server need to render all the online data + each of the 64 players viewports? Call me a moron but wouldn’t that have the same effect as when say your N64 had to render 4 ports so the detail went from meh to absolute shit along with the framerate?

OT: when I was in the wow classic beta I tried it using GeForce now (lets u use blizzard account along with steam) and my latency was 5ms on the ingame meter, so I must have been quite literally been in the same center with my cloud pc as the game server. Funny thing was it played pretty damn good, of course the IQ when I cranked the foliage up made the screen look like a 50% quality setting jpeg, but feel wise it was pretty near my local experience. I kept jumping back and forth to see how the timings compared. But I think wow has quite a bit of latency interpretation built into its gameplay

Don't try to make sense of it; the dude has no tech savvy and is just reading dev quotes and trying to portray himself as an expert.

man I read more of the thread, you and that Jacqueline Jones have the patience of saints lol. Why is this guy so fervent over something he A:) Doesn't really grasp, and B:) Can't even use yet. (or maybe ever, "oh save me Elon!")

And at the end of the day, its just a serivce.... like I don't post 85 times a day fanboying over the virtues of how I personally subscribe to spotify premium, or didn't have to buy a hunk of plastic for the Game of Thrones boxset, because I used HBO to stream it, (and the series was retroactively turned into a pile of shit by season 8 so I was just out a few months of sub fees to binge it all).

I almost wonder judging from him not being in the area for Stadia, if he doesn't have a gaming PC (or a very good one). Blue Manifest let it slip their pc is 9 years old so their fervor isn't surprising. I bet its the old Santa brought you a Super Nes for Christmas so now you have to convince yourself and everyone else at the lunch table its the best.

And why does no one bring up modding during these lovefests, if there is one achilles heel for streaming that will be it. Now I don't expect console gamers to even think about modding since they aren't allowed any freedom on their devices, but for pc gamers modding is right up there with "best performance" as the reasons to even pc game. And I'll lay an egg before google would ever let you have a full instance with admin access to install mods on (real mods, not just diet curated stuff, or even steam workshop), show me google allowing me to throw my cloud purchased DOOM.WAD w/ Brutal Doom.pk3 into the latest GZDOOM release ive installed on their instance, or DaggerfallUnity, or Open Morrowind, or Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead, etc etc.

This is where the shills would acquiesce and admit for me I am just a hipster vinyl level edge case and I shouldn't replace my gaming with cloud gaming.

OT: riotous have you tried shadow out at all?

Meltdowns in that thread because people dare criticize the Switch. Blaming the devs when there is only so much you can do with such limited hardware.

Meltdowns over nothing, too- OW runs great on the Switch.  The character model loading thing is just something that can happen for a second or two while people are first joining matches.  It's a quality port- they should get back to being angry at Blizzard instead since REEEE doesn't actually play games.

So it's this mess:

There are a lot of sub-optimal things about this port. The timing is inopportune, for one. Overwatch is landing on Switch three and a half years after its original release, and on the tail end of a controversy surrounding its publisher, Blizzard. While the Switch has become a veritable port vacuum, it’s difficult to imagine the game’s target demographic—the sort of person who slept this long on the massively popular team shooter, but is excited enough to try it out on the one console least likely to showcase all the things that made it popular.

What does this have to do with game performance?  :lol

Unfortunately, the Switch isn’t a great console for online competitive gaming. Unless you’ve got a LAN adapter and a Pro controller and you’re playing in docked mode, it can be tricky to summon the accuracy and timing necessary to best enemies. Even for people who enjoy playing competitive games casually, these minor technical hiccups can make a relaxing gameplay session frustrating. Overwatch is not immune to this.

It's fine on wifi.  Was playing it last night and matches were very smooth.  It's no different from joining a match on any other console or PC and playing against people who are also playing wirelessly.

Then we get something about some minor input lag (didn't notice this myself, but OK) and then a bunch of nothing about the optional motion controls feeling "weird" and some removed garbo about the voice chat that they couldn't be arsed to find out was in-game.
