i mean of course WFH is better 90% of the time (or WF Wherever you want is a better term), but you've got to make that happen for yourself. hopefully enough people have now realised just how much the commute life is an unnecessary imposition put on them and even in a covid-free future, mandatory office attendance for the majority of jobs is seen as an outdated institution.
I've always had the flexibility to do both.
Sprint and crunch projects with a team spirit at the office or work creatively with a group of people is always fun.
But I also like to deep dive in a difficult problem and write proposals at home.
The most difficult thing with constantly working from home is that work and spare time start to blend.
You wake up late for the first remote meeting. Then you work, eat lunch behind the PC etc. .
And in my case there's always an infinite amount of work to do.
Same for other people too, like clients call me a 8 or 9 in the evening because their working hours are also less structured.
I imagine a lot of office jobs will stay work from home cos businesses will see how much they’ll be able to save from rent, operational costs and maintenance 
I dunno, in general managers like to track progress and there's a lack of transparency right now.
Most meetings people request are really those 'circle back' - 'is everyone aligned' type of useless meetings that anxious managers need to feel confident.
What I don't like personally is the 'ghosting'. In the office you can just shout: "Can you call back client X?" and they can't just ignore you.
Now you can ask that, you see the indicator that someone is typing, and then nothing.
And then all you can do is spam them with question marks every so often.
Sometimes you're just staring at your screen waiting for an answer to a really simple or short question.
