I don't think it makes a difference, does it? The peak was months ago. The point being Japan tested far fewer people than in other countries at that time.

The positivity percent of tests is a decent rough indicator for how sufficient testing capacity is at a given place and time. We can agree on this, right?

Back in April Japan had only done like 10,000 tests and half came back positive. However, the reason the percentage was so high, was because they were only testing people who were really ill. They were only testing people who had pneumonia. That was the criteria for testing.

In Tokyo only 10,000 tests were conducted, and half came back positive.

The second wave has started which I feel could've been avoidable. But no one really acted or prepared.

No action on ventilation or the government keeping their foot down. Seems like they've all concluded the economic damage of another lockdown is too severe and we just have to 'live with it'.
Flu season has not even started and numbers are higher than they were at the peak in spring.

It's over. Numbers are going way up and regulations in countries like Belgium are actually eased to make sure there is public support for the measures that remain.
Numbers will continue to rise as any action to prevent the second wave should've been taken weeks ago. But our government has already ruled out a national lockdown and still insists masks won't work.

Also setting records here in Denmark, however we also still got less people hospitalized than in April, so might just be because we test a lot more. (we test around 1% of the population daily vs in the outbreak happened here and we barely had any test kits)

But 2 workers and 2 kids at my old work tested positive now, of a school of only 200. There is no way there isnt a bunch more infected. Luckily I havent substituted there for the last two weeks or so, being busy with my normal job, but fugg :DDDDD One of my best friends who I hang out with does work there still
