This is COVID and people working in tech who somehow have shitty gear or no gear at home.

I never quite realized how that differs so much today from 5 - 10 years ago when all of us in tech were nerds who could build our own rigs and your computer at work or school was always shittier than the absolute beast you had at home.
Some didn't even have SSD's or a decent display.

I've found the longer I've spent working in tech, the less and less I'm interested in fiddling around with any sort of tech at home.

NY instituting new policies - no more than 10 people at indoor gatherings; restaurants and gyms to close by 10PM (to be honest, not too many restaurants and gyms are open past that anyways...)
Don't think it will do all that much to help, but we'll see. WFH extended till the end of March 2021 for me at least.

That quote obviously sounds scary, but I find myself asking what sort of calculation this is based on. If you look at the graphs in the same story, it sort of creates another context. I mean, how is the doubling rate calculated? Doesn't say:
