Better for whom, though?  Showcasing books that are good and don't sell well is better for Black History Month. The Yellow House or Solitary are genuinely fantastic, award-winning books written by black authors that didn't sell well, the latter being an important book that's relevant to but also extends to issues beyond race.  They can do a lot better than selling Mary Shelley's Frankenstein as a novelty because it's easy to resell covers and earn 10x over the overhead on royalty free books.
