I like how Beefy argued that we can't be a 100% certain that Depp is innocent.

If it is only him protecting himself than he did no wrong, if it isn't he did wrong. We have no idea if he was just protecting himself. Is it looking more and more likely he was? Yes. But again we can't be 100% with that.

This is obviously a thorny issue. Heard is clearly abusing Depp, and her allegations are as yet unproven. However, while it would seem there is not sufficient evidence to completely discount her assertion that Depp abused her, it's become clear that her abuse of him was primary in the relationship. Going forward, do not equivocate between the two. Any downplaying of Heard's abusive behavior will be moderated harshly.

I think it speaks more to Heard's manipulation and lying that she allowed it to perpetuate than anything regarding the general public. She could have stopped that in its tracks but chose not to, deliberately. When people see abuse, it's a natural reaction to want to come out against it because it sucks. In cases like this, we're never going to have a 100% accounting of every single thing that went down so opinions are going to be formulated with incomplete info much of the time. Now that there is more info, the general public will likely shift the other way.

Let's say you have a brother, and I spread a rumor in his town that your brother was in prison for 20 years. I say it over and over again, I offer proof of my claims, I get the media involved in it, eventually people are going to come to the conclusion it's true- not because they are bad people, but because they have been manipulated. I just think instead of attacking people who were honestly reacting to what at the time seemed a clear case of abuse, the ire should be directed at the person who propagated it when they knew the whole truth.
