I live in a pot legal state. I think I’m addicted to weed. I can’t go more than a few days without it. The craving is intense every afternoon after work. I don’t smoke it I eat it. I have depression and anxiety and weed completely temporarily cures it for me. I’m on 5 other psych meds which keep me mostly stable but there’s nothing quite like coming home after a long day at work and having edibles and watching movies while grazing on snacks. I just don’t enjoy leisure as much without weed. So since I can afford it, I buy it, even though it is expensive.

I’m wondering, is this an addiction that I need to treat? Or is it like coffee—addiction is common and normalized because it is not toxic. I mean, is it alright to want to get stoned every day after work?

The irony is that I don’t have an addictive personality. I’m very neurotically cautious about meds and doses, I’ve had very addictive medications before and handled them carefully with no problems. I don’t drink caffeine or smoke or eat unhealthy. This is my first “addiction.”

On a side note, I’ve had some of my most salient and creative thoughts while high, so it’s helped me in some cases there too.

So what should I do?
