I suffer from severe depression and anxiety and haven’t posted anything on the internet since April. Today I remembered something my therapist told me about the limits and dangers of using aversion as a coping mechanism and decided to test what returning to the public internet would feel like. Maybe it would be good for me.

This was a mistake and I am going back to emotional quarantine. I do not have the capacity for takes like “Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t have a story” right now. Maybe I will try again in June. Hopefully I will be strong enough then.

I’m lucky to be in a well established vote by mail state. Typically I’ll vote D across the board but make exceptions for well regarded independent abd Republican bureaucrats and specialists- comptrollers and such. But since Gorsuch I’ve eliminated that pragmatic exception- I’d no more put a republican in charge of even trivial governance now than a wolf atop a henhouse. Makes me sad but it’s where we’re at.

it’s why I get mad about “I’m not voting but it doent matter” and try to at least appeal to some of those folks on the off chance they’re not just trolling or are maybe actually nervous about what living in the country politics would create.
