Ok someone explain this trans shit to me because either I really am that dense, or the entire trans-advocate community is insane:
There are two attributes at play in this bullshit: Sex, and Gender.
Sex is a fixed, binary position that determines who can fuck with whom to create babies. There are mutations and deformities that fuck this up (hermaphrodites, etc.), but these are edge cases and errors caused by nature.
Gender, as these people claim, is a societal construct that informs males and females how they should behave. Males should be assertive, wear pants, whatever. Females should be caring, compassionate, wear skirts, etc.
The argument, as far as I understand it, is that one day, people decided "why do I have to conform to the attributes of this gender when we made up pants and skirts. Why can't I, as a biological male, wear skirts and makeup?" and thus transgenderism was born. So a transgender person is someone who identifies with attributes and dress typically associated with a different gender from the one they were born as. Ok, so you're a dude (biological male) who wants to wear skirts, great, whatever. This seems to have grown into "identifying" as a woman, i.e. taking on a female name, being referred to as a she, etc. Ok, fine, you want to LARP that you're a chick, whatever, it's as harmless as a nickname as far as I care.
Now you enter the realm of these transgender people who apparently not only identify as the other gender, but also as the other sex. So now you're a transsexual? Is that term even used to describe this anymore? I feel like it should be if it isn't. There seems to be a difference. This is also where everything stops making sense. If gender is a societal construct, and sex is your biological physiology and plumbing, how in the fuck do you "feel" like you were born in the wrong body other than it being a mental disorder? I can understand enjoying different clothing or superficial changes, but I don't understand this. You think you should've had a vagina instead of a penis? That's great, but that doesn't make you a woman. It seems like some genetic women might be cool with you wearing skirts and going shopping with them, but they're not cool with a biological male invading private spaces for biological women. These are what the REEEEs refer to as TERFs as far as I understand it.
Sexual attraction also comes into play here, because as far as I get it, sexual attraction is based on physiology and biological sex, not gender. I'm not attracted to the guy from Rocky Horror just because he's wearing women's lingerie. He's a male. I'm not attracted to males. So in what world do they think that a guy who has surgery to remove his penis magically becomes a genetic woman? This ridiculous notion that a straight male is transphobic if he's not attracted to men in dresses is pure insanity to me.
Furthermore, if gender is a societal construct that has been designed over the centuries to pigeonhole the sexes into only certain types of appropriate behavior and dress, isn't being transgender almost anti-feminist because you're basically subscribing to the idea of a girly girl as the only type of acceptable woman? If a woman can behave in any way she wants, then gender is basically meaningless anyway, and the only thing that remains is biological sex which is immutable.
Ok , I'm gonna try my best, without delving too deep and so you won't get lost in the details.
