In today's episode of that happened

I have one more from retail -

I was robbed twice in 12 months. The second time, I was going through some severe trauma and had zero interest in living in general.

The second robber came into my store (I had been moved to a city 15 miles away, not a terrible commute but still sucked) as I was closing and pulled a gun. At the time I was filling in on the video game retail side of the business, so it was a shoebox inside another larger building. The guy proceeds to ask for an Xbox, a PS3, and walks to the shelves while I’m grabbing the consoles. He legit browses the shelves for games to steal. They’re empty. There are no games in the used game shells. All the new games are behind the counter. He picks up several empty shells and puts them in a bag, except one: Virtua Tennis.

When he comes back to the counter, he absentmindedly put his gun on the counter and I swiped it. No clue why I did that.I surely wasn’t thinking about if I had failed to grab the gun. He took off.

My counterpart in the video rental side of the fence had called the police. When they arrived, the first cop basically read me the entire riot act. How stupid that was to grab his gun, my brains could have been all over the the wall, this could have been a murder robbery, don’t you have family son etc

I couldn’t even legally buy beer yet.
