Considering how rare false accusations actually are compared to the amount of assaults that go uninvestigated or otherwise ignored, this seems really silly to say. They were called Dynamite Cabinets, there were EVERYWHERE and are some of the most common cabs on the aftermarket in north america. The Dynamite Showcase were also popular, those were the big podium style cabs with 33 inches CRTs and huge speakers. I still own one of those in storage.

On the one hand looking at the charts it seems that something happened late September that lost their audience since that when weekly video views collapsed from around an average of a million a week to under half that and subscriber growth started to stagnate (with a small boost in Dec which I presume was due to videos on Cyberpunk getting attention). Maybe they were a victim of a Youtube algorithm change or they decreased output of videos but there was definitely something going on before they came out that affected their channel's popularity

On the other it is undeniable there was big drop after coming out which was probably a result of transphobic viewers unsubscribing and since then there's been a steady bleeding of subscribers since which might be due to transphobia. I do slightly wonder why it's a steady drop instead on an instantaneous decline but hopefully they'll reach a point where all the trash who would leave over this are gone so their channel can start trending upwards again

Last Summer was the big blow out of Ubisoft and their transgressions. That seems to be where view count started to suffer I guess Ubisoft fans are scarily loyal. Though 2021 the drop in views/subscribers has been 100% a result of the transition and that is extremely obvious.

Edit: I've decided to not bog this thread down, the focus should be on the transphobia in the general gamer audience and Jim's happiness since coming out as pansexual

His videos kept being demonetised because he kept on using peoples licenced work without permission because he's one of those dipshits who thinks 'fair use' means 'I think it's fair if I use it' so he did a 'hilarious' gag of deliberately using multiple copyright violations simultaneously to 'stick it to the man' as it would be flagged automatically by the YT algorithms as multiple licencee violations.

Interestingly I checked and I was unsubscribed. This is weird, because I never unsub, and I was 100% subscribed in the past. This is a major gripe I have with youtube -- It does not let me go above 1000 subscriptions, and randomly deletes subs. I was definitely well above 1000 at some point, now I only have 987 apparently. Lots of subs I have from like 2015 and earlier have just been wiped. Probably no chance of finding the channels I subbed to in 2006-2010 etc. Take your notification bell and shove it up your ass YT

It's kind of like how a lot of white americans were OK with Barack Obama - even voted for him - until he started talking more about race relations and were like, wow, he actually is black, I don't like this.

 

I unsubscribed a few days ago, along with a few other channels I wasn’t bothering with.

For me it’s more of a shift of interests. Jim isn’t producing anything I care to watch. If I’m spending time watching a video, I want something useful. Creating art or cooking something. I just don’t care to hear about the bad thing EA/Activision did the other day.

Jim’s still doing well though, and I’m sure they’ll bounce back.
