Why isn't most of the press talking about Kotick not leaving?

Ree’s ‘influencers” are throwing hissy fits because Borderlands guy called them a bunch of cheap, scrounging bums. Ignore lists are growing. Damn heads are shaking, and they’re all just canting anymore. 10 pages of bums arguing over scraps -https://www.resetera.com/threads/randy-pitchford-to-critics-and-influencers-“-sure-here’s-a-free-code-but…-bro…-tribes-of-midgard-is-like-20”.466332/
lol all the shit in that Intercept thread and I’m the one who got a warningF1-F530-F1-F74-E-4353-B17-E-3-C1-E6-E2-A0755.jpgEat my ass, mods. Place is a cesspit of bad-faith politics threads designed to turn people into hyper-cynical disengaged assholes and they continue to do nothing.Give me a million points and ban me forever. It would be a blessing. I could finally stop this dumb cycle of ban requests and rid myself of this shitty place forever.PoliEra, you folks are good people. Everyone else here is awful. This is 100% an overreaction to a pathetic little mod warning, but my god, this forum is unbearable. I’ve got actual shit to do in my life and I don’t need to waste my time at a place like this.

Once again REE showing how they don't know how the real world works. I used to run a fairly big movie review site and companies would contact me offering review copies, even sometimes just sending them to me. If you're in a spot where you are contacting the company for a review copy -- and even moreso, having to give a "resume" as why you "deserve" one -- then you're not owed one.
Comping food for food critics is basically bribery. It's why they try to go undercover, and why more serious "reviewers" of products like to get their own copy so they know it's that generic one. era being pro bribery in a world with corrupt cops is wild
I like how the freaks like Arlo jump on this In any other profession you call this 'expenses' . Only 5 year olds and videogame journalists don't understand that concept
You don't have to send in a resume to get a free key for video games if you have access to a press account.
I think that thread really needs a "women and minority game reviewers would be hardest hit" by not giving free keys to anyone who asks post.

All these idiots calling themselves freelancers but basically doing it for free games are a joke.

Anybody remember the guy that used to post the long screeds similar to this: https://www.resetera.com/threads/whistleblower-daniel-hale-sentenced-to-4-years-prison-for-leaking-info-that-a-majority-killed-by-obamas-drone-strikes-were-innocent-bystanders.463713/page-4#post-70456800
Man the DC port of Marvel vs Capcom is incredible. I remember the day I got it, it was right before Christmas 1999. My mom came home from walmart, she said she had gone to pick my grandpa up a present, and came back with this for me as a surprise. I have no idea how she knew I wanted this game -- I wasn't into comics and, while I was a huge fighting game fan, I didn't play MvC exclusively or anything in the arcades. Plus it was right before Christmas.Whatever the reason, what a stellar port. It was like having the arcade machine right at home.

These former employees said they did not experience or witness sexual harassment or explicit sexism; instead, they said, the studio’s toxic culture hid behind the veneer of inclusivity, as women were allegedly repeatedly broken down by microaggressions.
They took pride in creating games that resonated with marginalized people, like Gone Home, a coming-of-age story about a teenage lesbian. But at the same time, former employees say they also felt stifled by Gaynor’s “controlling” and “demeaning presence” — someone who allegedly saw Open Roads not as the team’s game, but as his game.
Women in leadership positions told Polygon that they experienced constant micromanagement that made it difficult for them to do their jobs, having to get even the smallest details approved by Gaynor. This was compounded, they said, by Gaynor’s tendency to disparage and discredit the contributions of female staffers in particular, oftentimes directly to leadership. Some of the former female staffers said they often worried about how Gaynor characterized them to other employees.“This is going to sound like a joke, but I’m completely serious: Working for him often felt like working for a high school mean girl,” one former employee in a leadership position told Polygon. “His go-to weapon was to laugh at people’s opinions and embarrass them in front of other people.”Six other former employees corroborated this characterization.
Following the mass exodus of Fullbright employees in 2020 and 2021, the leads remaining at the company were tasked with hiring new employees. Two sources told Polygon that they were hesitant to hire the qualified, talented women who applied for the roles out of fear of how they’d be treated by Gaynor. Former employees had seen what they perceived as a pattern of young women, early in their careers, being broken down by their time under Gaynor at Fullbright. Multiple sources told Polygon they feared that even more promising talent would be driven out of the industry, like the others. Some former employees described themselves as “changed” following their time at Fullbright. Many have questioned their abilities, describing their experience with Gaynor as having been “gaslit,” and have sought out therapy to deal with the trauma associated with development on Open Roads and company culture.
Historians need to coin a snappy name for the coup attempt. Calling it the capitol riot is not catchy enough and doesn’t describe the importance of the event. I’m thinking of something like the beer hall putsch, but I’m not a copyrighter so I can’t think of anything any good
I'd go with "Coup d'idiot". It's a coup, true, but it's also the dumbest, least thought out coup.
I like this, very accurate description. Fail d'etat may also be good.
KKKerfuffle.
The Kuckoo Koup
Cuckoo d'etat
poop coup XD
Coup d'etwat

We need to put pressure on Annapurna Interactive and their parent Annapurna Pictures. Undoubtedly they have the means to do more.
btw buying into the microagressions theory big time seems like an easy way to drive yourself mad, suddenly every slightly awkward yet innocuous social interaction could be framed as an attack on you in your mind
Multiple former employees expressed concern that Gaynor was even operating in this capacity — that it was weird for a man to be writing a story about a mother and daughter, particularly a man that has allegedly demeaned several female employees.
