So one of my friends is going to one of her friend's wedding next month. The bride's friends have organised a surprise bachelorette party and invited my friend to come along.

Apparently they are going to have a special Beyonce-themed dance class where they're going to learn a couple of dance routines to Beyonce songs and just have a fun time. All sounds like good fun.

But they have also ordered the bride-to-be a 'Beyonce wig' for her to wear during all the activities and my friend is pretty uncomfortable at the idea of a bunch of white, middle-class English women doing Beyonce stuff while one of them wears a wig and pretends to look like an prominent woman of colour. It sounds a little... problematic.

What should she do? Should she call them out, decline to participate or just go along with it?

There's theoretically nothing wrong with the rules for media being specifically about the media itself and not the creators.  Problem is they don't even do that.  Media gets banned all the time for the creator's beliefs even when they don't inject those beliefs into the product themselves (Huniepop) or they get banned based on association and nothing else (Skill Up).  If they want to do that, fine, but they're horribly inconsistent on it.  And you can't even say they take the easy route and go after only the indies and relatively niche individuals that not enough people will kick up a stink about because the biggest podcast in the world is on that list.  So what's different for Kanye when he's literally the Joe Rogan of music on this front?

My impression is that they think if they get relaxed the forum will be labeled alt right, regardless of being true or not, by some of the most obnoxious and loud users. While we suspect there is a lot of trolls, many RE users seem to be genuine nutcases that think they are changing the world by creating narratives in a niche gaming forum (Neoxon hilarious attempt to cancel Scott The Wuz for example), so there is probably fear that some asshole will start to shit talk them at twitter and actually affect them IRL.
