Yay

- Got paid out really nicely by my insurance, was able to afford some things I always wanted but never had money for
- Somehow still got my job despite not working for months
- Started caring a bit less about football. Just feels less important when you cant be there.

Nay:
- Covid meaning only a few concerts in the beginning of the year, cancelled shows I really wanted to go to and no football at stadium. The type of shit I usually travel for.
- Was told it's time to get listed for a liver transplant, and did... which is extremely stressful, just to be waiting for a phone call. Especially when i've already been called in twice and had it called off.
- Feeling sick and tired all the fucking time

Gay:
- Shosta
- Getting fucked in the ass in cyberpunk by mistake
- doctor put finger into my butt

Expounding:

Yay-wise, I developed myself a lot over 2020, realizing I can love myself and I don't have to conform to others' expectations, leading me to abandon my meal ticket to pursue ✨art✨, which could end up being the stupidest decision of my life but for now I'm counting it as a Yay. I also finally came out to my parents, and I would say at least Trump didn't get re-elected but fuckface can't take the hint and go away quietly (if that was ever an option.) COVID shutting some things down had a mild benefit for me in some ways, too.

Gay-wise, I'm going on two years without getting laid, so aside from taking advantage of National Coming Out Day, the year was definitely the least gay in recent (and not-so-recent) memory for me. :shaq2

Literally everything else: Nay as fuck.

Yay
-Got engaged
-My nephew was born back in March
-Lost about 20 lbs from not eating out nearly as much and cooking a lot more during lockdown
-Still have my job
-Played a lot of neat retro games during lockdown

Nay
-well, apart from covid and all the negatives that come with it (unable to see certain family members during holidays, losing friendships, favorite restaurants closing down, no more EDM shows/clubs, no more bars or indoor dining)... work has gotten a shit-ton more stressful this year as I'm on 2 complex projects with difficult customers

Gay
-nothing really that gay this year

Yay:
- ehhh... remained healthy.
-Still got to enjoy good company while sticking with social distancing and group size regulations.
- Runner up in both fantasy football leagues so that's some extra money.
- Got to see my family in the end
- Been satisfied with the VGM thread. Good vibes there and people seem to enjoy different soundtracks which makes for good variety.

Nay:
- Japan trip cancelled  :maf :maf :maf :maf
- Wrath left The Bore. I miss him here. At least I can bump into him in another place.
- Does Esch even post here anymore? I feel like we lost 3 or 4 posters I enjoyed.

Gay:
- No gay or trans people hit on me this year. Well January and February is hard to remember at this point.

  • Played more videogames than 2019
  • WFH from April, and still gainfully employed
  • Received first-ever monetary bonus from game development
  • Managed to save some money due to lockdown
  • When I do splurge on shopping, it's guilt-free due to a lack of dining out and drinking on the town

NAY

  • Mom diagnosed with Alzheimers during a worldwide pandemic
  • Mom diagnosed with Alzheimers during a worldwide pandemic, had to remotely move her into a memory care home, and I still can't travel to help her
  • Handling Mom situation led to first major falling-out with sister in a decade
  • Lost long-time friend to debilitating, incurable disease
  • Work turned out… substantially less ideal than it initially appeared
  • Compelled to commute 4 hours a day on 4 trains each way, through January, February, and all of March during COVID's spread
