Kinda sad how hollow support for Batgirl is. There’s a clip of some movie press asking Michael Keaton about it at the Emmys. He couldn’t give less of a shit. Some footage has leaked and nobody noticed. Not helping how the handful who pretend to care spent years saying don’t be mean to corporations. Be it Sonic or JL.
Even the campaign to get the actress in a marvel movie lasted all of one afternoon. I’m reminded of the casting mix up with the Hellboy reboot. They hired Ed Skrein, a white fella, to play a Japanese character. After brief outrage, guy voluntarily stepped away and Johnny Gat got the role (Korean, close enough for them). Twitter people were hyping up Ed Skrein, including some writers and directors, saying they have his back for doing what Scarlett Johansson and others didn’t. This was in 2017. The promised support went about as well as you can expect. His biggest role since will be in, you guessed it, a Zack Snyder movie.
