I think free speech on the internet is a huge problem. Anyone can say anything and that would be great if we didn’t have a massive problem of stupid people who will believe everything they read without checking the source.

Because of misinformation a large group of people now believe that schools are leaving out litter boxes for furries. And I’m sure some of them are unhinged and are going to plan and commit acts of violence because of it.

Maybe there needs to be some sort of line that can’t be crossed when free speech is involved. Maybe there needs to be some sort of third party system working with the government to find the people posting such blatant misinformation and punish them or at least silence them.

Maybe the era of “True” free speech needs to end until people become more educated.

Forget saying that climate change will "literally burn" the planet and leave it unhospitable to all life. What about an entire mass culture that cultivates the idea that anyone who says something you don't like is ontologically evil, that no action against them is wrong, that they're too stupid or morally broken to deserve rights or protection from violence, that their inherent sin moral depravity means they deserve random acts of chaos against them in retaliation for their crimes, that they're all part of a giant conspiracy led by a wealthy cabal out to murder people, that they're currently carrying out an ongoing genocide, that their one lone obsessive goal and their every act is seeking to murder you personally, that we're in a constant state of universal war against these people with existential and immediate consequences in every area of life and every potential subject, etc.

We have historical examples of exactly that type of speech leading to actual literal violence and mass murders, surely the powerful conspiracy that sits in power should want to suppress and punish that kind of speech. Yet wooooosh, right over the heads of these totalitarian idiots. (Who I, of course, believe should maintain their free speech rights.)

I think it's very interesting how stuff like Cyberpunk and Hogwards Legacy has been handled over at ree vs games made by Blizzard, the company behind the systemic serial sexual harassment/abuse of women  that went on for over a decade. All of it so numerous and well documented that the state of California went after them.

I was having a conversation with a friend earlier and he started talking about he didn’t like how he liked and how much weight he’s put on these past years. I told him to just stop eating out everyday, replace sodas with more water intake and exercise for at least more than 14 mins and you will lose weight. He then made an excuse about how that wouldn’t help at all and that losing weight is a lot more complicated than that…

I dislike people who try to justify being lazy and not putting an effort to improve their health/self image. I was guilty of this year until last month when I really took it seriously and started eating better and have a consistent exercise schedule , losing weight is really easy , it’s finding the willpower to keep doing your schedule that most people can’t do.

I still have a thread bookmarked from a couple of years ago where I predicted the majority of PS5/XSX titles would have 60FPS as an option. Most of you were clowning me in that thread. Now 2 years later a game dares not include 60FPS and the internet is having a hissy fit. Coltrane’s comments were not TERF or anti trans, he simply stuck up for his friend because she was getting death threats from people online because of her comments (which he neither agreed or disagreed with), and thought that too many people (in general) are too sensitive and get angry over everything. Something that ConVito is proving correct by continuing to come into this thread which is about the news of Coltrane’s passing, for the sole purpose of bashing the man and twisting his comments to accuse him of being a TERF. That kind of behavior is not normal, is inappropriate and the person should seek help.
