Sounds about right. To be honest I’ve only skimmed that page so I’m not familiar with the poster, I just liked the ban. Makes sense he was waiting to get got.

As for the case itself, fuck knows. I’m not American so I find it hard to get past the whole carrying a gun part. I think the trial is a bit of a farce from what I’ve seen, whether he’s guilty or not.

I feel bad because childhood me would be flipping out.

But you know, JK is a TERF, so now I just feel empty seeing this.

I just can’t engage with Harry Potter anymore. The series meant too much to me growing up, Rowling’s heel turn was like a personal betrayal

I can't in good conscience engage with HP anymore, even if JKR isn't involved. It's forever tainted for me.

I didn't hold the LiveJournal threads he made about struggling with his dog's death against him, because losing a pet fucking sucks and venting to a bunch of randos on the internet isn't the worst coping mechanism, but pleaseinsertdisctwo has now managed to make his dog's death a month ago another reason to post a thread bitching about his mom:

So my mom has a tendency to be really rude because she has no self control or awareness. She also has a tendency to sometimes offer, or even insist, to pay for something, and then have the urge to back out later. I'm grateful for any assistance, but not if it comes with guilt or whining.

Anyways, last month my dog passed away. I took her to the hospital. I gave the hospital a down payment of $3000. My mom then agreed to help pay for the hospital bill. The next day, she was getting worried about the bill and whatnot, despite me telling her that our dog is on oxygen right now and needs to be monitored. She then had my older brother (who doesn't live with us) call me and basically say "the dog is old, it's a waste of money," and he also literally said "and by the way no one would help pay for a dog's visit to a hospital, you need to be thankful."

My dog passed away less than a day later. I drove home and broke the news to my mom. At one point, I was crying and I told my mom that my dog was "my favorite thing in the universe"

To which she replied with "yeah, because she couldn't talk."

Like are you kidding me right now? I'm grieving because my dog just passed away, I've been up for 2 days, I'M the one that rushed her to the hospital, I'M the one who visited her, I'M the one that had to reluctantly agree with the vet to have her euthanized, and I woke up the entire neighborhood from my crying.... and you had to throw in some snarky ass comment? I'm not ridiculous for being REALLY upset over this comment, right?

I brushed that off, and then later I brought up how our dog would always be super happy when my mom was about to come home (as in, when my dog could hear her footsteps or her voice and would get excited), and then my mom said "she was the only one who loved me!!" in a tone that was like "ugh, only the DOG loved me." And then she later said "I gave her food and water every day" and she said it as if that's supposed to prove love.

And a couple of hours later I was obviously still crying and grieving and my mom was just saying "stop it!!" over and over again, as if that's helpful lol.

I don't really know where I'm going with this, I kind of just am still in shock that my mom had the audacity to throw in a snarky comment while I was grieving and then wonder why I don't like spending time with her lol. It's just one of the billions of examples of shocking diarrhea-of-the-mouth comments she's made.

I have had 3 of these over 3 decades. I moved around a lot growing up due to my dad being a surgeon. If anyone knows of psychoanalysis, this would be my transitional object. This, from the age of 9, was a symbol of stability when my world wasn't. Losing friends, changing schools, new people, uncertainty, anxiety. But the Casio F-91W was always on my wrist. With big adjustments such as moving countries, at least I could make small adjustments on a watch like change to the right time zone. I have a lot of sentimental value to this watch.
