Shouldn't there be wooden chips or cloth on the floor of this cage or something?
Not to mention I'm not seeing any small toys, twigs, small blankets or leafs either.
No wonder this poor animal is stressed, that cage set-up is horrible.
Lesson number 1: always place the food and water close to the sleeping shelter.
He probably freaks out everytime he has to go search for his food all the way at the bottom of the cage.
Look at his tiny feet and then the big holes in the plastic flooring. Would you want gaps in the flooring of your kitchen?
This is my second cage, for several reasons. It’s easy to be judgmental when you don’t have the all the facts. The fact is this thread is about my hedgehog going to the hospital. I just spent $500 on his care and ceramic heat lamps and you don’t know shit about what kind of research I’ve done or conversations I’ve had or my factors into this situation so if you’re going to be a prick just fucking leave. Even my vet gave me bad info
My dude...
Syringe-feeding him went well tonight. He got a full belly and antibiotic though he has spit up a little bit of formula he mostly tolerated the sum of it.
All you had to do is google a picture of a hedgehog cage instead of replicating GITMO for Hedgehogs.
Get off your high horse, you maniac
