I kinda agree with riotous. I can only think of one reason why someone wants to amplify the current location of someone's private jet.
Try and think a little harder.
The reason the account was created was because Musk was using his plane to get from one side of LA to another. It was to point out how hypocritical hes being with his save the world stuff.
The account also pointed out that living in LA and working in SF is not very good for the environment.
Same with Taylor Swift, although Swift responded calmly that its not actually her plane and it is used by other people who lease it so most flights arent hers
If that's the point they wanted to make, they can do that by taking one minor little fucking step to show that data simply as miles travelled, or even just as CO2 generation without the actual, you know, the whole real time updating of his location aspect.
I also don't exactly think its a giant fucking breach of unspoken rules if you're a journo who actually thinks "guy realtime tracking elon musk banned from twitter" is an actual story to leave the story there, instead of the followup "Although hes now banned there, heres a link to his new site doing the exact same thing!" - I mean,
come the fuck on.
Flying your private jet all over while preaching environmental responsibility is arguably news worthy as hypocrisy of a public figure, but you can do that without the whole 'realtime location data' aspect pretty fucking easily.
This shit is even stupider than changing your name to elon musk to 'prove' impersonation is gonna be a problem, then bitching about getting banned for impersonation.
e:
I mean, I'm not even gonna lie - the level of distinguished mentally-challenged and butthurt about twitter from 'journalists' is really souring me on my previous assumption many of these people were in fact intelligent and qualified enough to do their actual fucking jobs and not just act like ego maniacal bloggers
