never really thought about drugs much but reading the comments was interesting
I had always assumed addictive drugs were like nicotine (or maybe I even understand nicotine wrong) that there was some chemical that made your body demand it, like it wasn't about a choice you'd actively make, it was a physical dependency
but people describe heroin as a feeling so good that you would do anything to feel it again, not that it forces your body to desire it, but like, it's the only conclusion a person in their right mind would come to, it's a pleasure which ruins all other pleasures, if you had the choice of doing anything in life it's the most obvious choice by far, which is what makes it the worst thing you could ever experience
I suppose it's all chemicals in the end to some extent but that kind of recontextualizes it
