Someone explain the cognitive dissonance behind them banning Cyberpunk content but allowing Witcher discussion when it's all from the same "transphobic" company.

They've explained this, while CDPR is violently transphobic and right-wing, Cyberpunk 2077 is even worse because it is inherently transphobic, the very essence of the game is transphobic as shown by the ads and the entire storyline focused on a well known popular anti-trans slur.

And no, this isn't me doing that facetious thing where I slightly exaggerate their actual position to mock it this is literally what Kyuuji and others have said, that Cyberpunk 2077's entire existence is "steeped in transphobia" and you can't separate the game from the transphobia as you presumably can with The Witcher.

The thread has reopened again. We hope everyone has had time to recollect themselves.

A necessary reminder that the ban on Hogwarts Legacy was not a decision spearheaded only by the upper echelons of staff. This was a collaborative effort between all of staff over the course of months in response to a growing desire from our community to stand against a powerful figure directly engaging in the spread of oppression.

This is a two-way street. Staff have done their part. Now it is up to members to justify that the decision was the right one. If you're going to be bringing it up anyway to shame other outlets, content creators, and otherwise drudge up offsite drama where it doesn't belong, you literally undermine the whole purpose of the ban. If such is going to be the case, we simply would've gone the Cyberpunk route of allowing an informative OT instead and called it a day.

You all told us you wanted this as a full ban. We agreed, and we have provided it. And we are once again prepared to toss out anyone who breaks the rules no matter how they feel about Rowling and Harry Potter. Do not attempt to skirt the rules.

Because if they know their body and mind better then they don't have a mental disorder, gender dysphoria, and therefore do not have a "healthcare crisis" regarding access to harmful treatments and cosmetic butchery that needs addressing before their body has even mostly stopped developing. If you want to go the other anti-truscum way and say it's not a disorder it's simply identity and anyone can define it at any time, fine, great, I'm happy to do that, but guess what, now you no longer have a claim on (pseudoscientific) medical resources since it's just a personal preference not an actual health issue.

You got me to read what he actually said more closely. He's not talking about Harry Potter books or Rowling's books, just books and reading in general. She loves books and he thinks she's "obsessed" with reading. This is why he thought she would side with Joanne on an unrelated topic as if anyone who likes books immediately agrees with every author on every topic just because they're an author of books. (Even when this goes against their own established political views.) He can't even create a theory of mind for his own mom.
