To again use a Cultural Revolution reference, there's this hilarious cognitive dissonance on ResetERA.com that's the same as the self-criticism used in the CCP. You'd have these guys, even up to the Politboro, giving these hour long speeches about how they were part of a sinister plot to overthrow the revolution and restore capitalism and then the response would be "okay, you're good" and they were restored to power often. Nepenthe posts constantly about how much capitalism, colonialism and white supremacy is being furthered by posters on the forum and then she, an administrator, basically does nothing but yell at them about it. Even the bans, signed off by at least three members of the staff, aren't against people for doing this but only for talking back directly to her.
She posts all this shit about divesting and needing to reject the systems and the importance of seizing power and how apologies aren't enough only legitimate deliberate successful permanent actions, but in instances where she actually has power like as an administrator or by what avatar she "reps", all the sudden all her language switches over to how she's utterly powerless to do anything and she's so tired and overworked and there's not enough staff members and you're just perpetuating the systems.
