I don't get your perspective.
Isn't the point for us to want them to learn from their mistakes, by hiring more Black writers/devs/artists to make sure the inclusion of Black characters is both more prevalent AND properly in tone with the culture?

Who are you calling "performative" anyway, a Black person like [USER=80]Neoxon[/USER] who has literally put in work and effort to inspire change in the industry with Black Character palm colors?
I think is way more difficult for a Japanese company focused in JRPGs to do this. Not impossible, mind you, but very few video game companies seem capable of this kind of feedback and offering this kind of job opportunities. For all its faults, I think Capcom fighting game division is one of the few able to do this and you guys still bitch about the designs if a random plush is lighter than the main model.
Still, is so bizarre to me the idea that only black people can write black characters while BCT used to shit on black people outside of the US if they have different opinions than them.
