What I think a lot of people fail to realize is that a lot of the countries that industrialized did so under threat by colonial powers. It's not like the colonial powers created cities and people just naturally moved there---homes and livelihoods were often destroyed to force native people into the cities where they could become the human sacrifice to the greed of capital.

And many of those that tried to try socialism or something non-capatalistic paid for that in blood.

What's more greedy and bloody than using violence to force everyone to conform to impoverished slave labor for a single monopoly corporation purely so a self-chosen elite can live more superior than everyone else? What's more greedy and bloody than deliberately creating a society where every attempt to individualize and better yourself brings a violent response to level you back down into the mass? What's more greedy than declaring yourself absolved of any responsibility because of "the system" until your demands are met that a totalitarian system be permanently imposed on everyone? Man I'm so upset. I placed an order at Best Buy for the Majora's Mask amiibo and I went to pick it up. It should have been a 2 or 3 minute trip but it ended up with me waiting for 30 minutes and no amiibo.

Apparently they gave my order to someone else because things were so hectic during the launch of TotK so some people were a bit slapdash with things.

First they tried checking which orders were already "marked" as fulfilled so they check to see if any of those matched with the names of orders they still had in their reserved inventory.

I imagine that didn't work because I ended up talking to and seeing 5 or 6 different employees look through inventory and talk amongst each other to figure out what to do. Three different employees ask for my order number each time with nothing happening after each request.

I vaguely overheard one of the employees say to another employee "it doesn't make sense, we have 9 orders but only 6 in-stock." I imagine a few more people are going to have to deal with this.

Eventually they sent me to a desk phone where they basically had me talk to a customer service representative where all they could do was cancel my order and apologize. The representative originally said they would cancel my original order and then replace the order but I knew that wouldn't work because it was out-of-stock everywhere. So yeah it didn't work.

After hanging up the in-store inventory manager apologized as well and gave me store credit for the amount of the Amiibo which is nice but the Amiibo is still out-of-stock and scalpers have driven the price up to at least $80 from a quick Google search. So there's no way to really use that credit.

I could buy something else but all I wanted was a dumb piece of plastic that's driven to scarcity due to limited production and scalpers.

I'm overall just bummed and upset. Not at anyone in particular because mistakes happen but yeah just upset at the entire situation and having to go through all that just for an Amiibo I won't be able to get.

Vastly preferred playing it with a controller with camera controls than the waggle of a Wiimote (to "waggle," I'd just tap my thigh with the Wiimote. Led to many bruises, lol).

What's so great about item management in the gamepad? You still have to stop watching the main screen, so it's not that much diffwrent from pausing. In fact, I find pausing better, better for my neck, and botw/totk menu is simple and fast.

I am essentially saying that first responders be it a nurse, PA, surgeon, dispatcher, cop, EMT, paramedic, Fire are all very tightly wound together due to numerous factors. If I “called for help” for anything there is an army of dudes (and women) that would come to bat for me. This can also have negative consequences if you are one to abuse said ability.

And yes, due to shift work first responders highly desire one another due to common work environments and unfortunately political leaning in some cases. It all makes for a cluster fuck that could make a scenario like the one in the video end badly because a cop will happily defend “one of their own.”

Let me reverse it as well: Cops are like flies to shit on nurses. It’s something that you either have familiarity with or don’t. But a Cop loves them some medical workers.

It’s up to us, especially white first responders to be responsible when calling for help. Especially when it’s against a marginalized community that has a history of being brutalized by the police. This scenario could have ended horribly for numerous reasons.

So the 6 month pregnant white woman was wrong for calling for help while being accosted by a bike thief?

I am essentially saying that first responders be it a nurse, PA, surgeon, dispatcher, cop, EMT, paramedic, Fire are all very tightly wound together due to numerous factors. If I “called for help” for anything there is an army of dudes (and women) that would come to bat for me. This can also have negative consequences if you are one to abuse said ability.

And yes, due to shift work first responders highly desire one another due to common work environments and unfortunately political leaning in some cases. It all makes for a cluster fuck that could make a scenario like the one in the video end badly because a cop will happily defend “one of their own.”

Let me reverse it as well: Cops are like flies to shit on nurses. It’s something that you either have familiarity with or don’t. But a Cop loves them some medical workers.

It’s up to us, especially white first responders to be responsible when calling for help. Especially when it’s against a marginalized community that has a history of being brutalized by the police. This scenario could have ended horribly for numerous reasons.

So the 6 month pregnant white woman was wrong for calling for help while being accosted by a bike thief?

All of the actually human or human-adjacent guests in the MK games have been men, yes.

All the guest characters including monsters have been men as well, the alien queen is the only alien that is considered "gendered" by all accounts, and the playable alien is not a queen.
And as far as I know, the predator is also a man, because last time I checked a lady predator in a videogame(predator:hunting grounds) they have reptilian characteristics aside from mammalian breasts, and I don't see any titties.
