When people say he used Twitter to do this no one means that it was because he organized the thing directly in a single tweet, but the months of unhinged election misinformation he constantly posted between losing the election and the Capital attack where he purposefully worked people into a frenzy. You're looking at a drop of water while standing in an ocean and going 'is this water?'
Yes, he has other options for doing bad things, therefore the reach of those options doesn't matter is a silly argument. Literally, you can see that banning him from Twitter worked just by looking at Nintex posts here. Whereas he would repost every dumbass thing Trump said 11 times a day before the ban, after he had to post second hand-tweets from Jared Kushner or some shit that went "Just spoke to the president, ..." or post the stupid Trump press releases that no one looked at but Nintex. If the cat is out of the bag you don't just let it wander the house, you put it back in the bag and drown it.
Also, yes AOC is a known exaggerater, so let's give uncharitable readings to everything she says just to further show what an exaggerater she is. What a fun game to do. It's not like repeatedly doing this day in day out is the reason why Nintex has the reasoning skills of a wombat.
Without the amplification all of Trump's tweets received from left leaning media and the hysterical reaction to them, Trump would never have even been elected, let alone been able to organise what was a pretty poorly organised insurrection.
Don't blame the medium, blame the people who facilitated these things, both intentionally and unintentionally.
This is an example of the point I'm trying to make. The blame is also people who uncritically consume the media and the people who facilitate it.
When you read every exaggerated SJW tweet that you find in the Culture War thread (and like every other Bore thread these days) and then read a dumb Ted Cruz take every once in a while, are you really just laughing at both sides? How many bad takes from basement dwelling SJWs are equal to a post by someone in actual power, before you start thinking that it's really both sides? Where are Nintex and co. finding all these tweets, and are you both actually laughing at the same thing? You read enough of these and you start to get a sense of what the 'left' is really like, and it's all nut jobs, so you develop an intolerance to hyperbole. You know the kind of thing those nutjobs say and anyone who says anything with the same aesthetic gets lumped into the group. O God, just AOC being one of those people again. So then you read a bunch of other Nintex posts that get scattered in that are seemingly centrist and rational. Tweets like 'It's actually the left's fault that Trump got elected because all their hysteria amplified his tweets which made him more divisive which in turn traditional media picked up on and ran with in nefarious ways' start making sense. Note only because, sure there is truth there, but because you have seen that hysteria first hand so many times and you know exactly the kind of people to blame.
But really does that make sense? Like it sure sounds smart to blame the left for getting Trump elected. But what is actually more important, the amplification or the actual votes cast? I know you're not dumb Potato, so why are you repeating platitudes like 'it's really the left's fault'? I'm not arguing that what you said is wrong, (it's true in a lot of ways, and in hindsight it's absolutely true) just that these factors are not outweighed by the obvious factor that the left didn't actually vote for the guy, to the point that statement doesn't need repeating. So why does it get said? Because AOC is doing the exact thing that got Trump elected right here right now, correct? Like she is just being hysteric like she was in 2016. Because if you look back at Trump's term, what was there to worry about? I mean other than significantly impacting the legitimacy of US elections and trying to start an insurrection? And that wasn't a real insurrection because it failed and because those over-the-top SJWs use term 'insurrection' and I know them to be hyperbolic liars, so the situation really can't be serious. In hindsight, clearly the hysteria in 2016 was not justified and the more reasonable hindsight is to say that the left amplifying Trump is the cause of this all. Do you actually believe that or would you rather just go 'LOL AOC said 'assassinate' what a tard'?
