The rumor atm is that DD2 will be revealed during the Summer Gamesfest this Thursday.  Actual gameplay and release date will be dropped at Gamescom in August; Q4 2022.  Will be cross-gen.

Edit:  Make that Capcom's own showcase; Capcom Showcase, streaming June 13th, 6pm EST  :hyper

This'll be me with with Elden Ring afterwards...

I never got around to playing Dragon's Dogma.

Maybe I should change that sometime, better on PC or Xbox?

It's 30 FPS on console no matter what you play it on.  IIRC PC cap was 150 fps.

I feel like 2022 is the year of gamers not getting what they want from companies.

I guess this could change if they announce DD2 in a couple of days...

Brehs, DMC5 only released in 2019. DD2 is a next gen open world RPG. I have no idea why anyone was expecting it in less than 4-5 years especially with covid. Felt like I was on crazy pills.

According to leak, it'll be last gen too like Elden Ring.  Definitely not expecting a trailer or anything, just want the acknowledgement that it is indeed coming and maybe a title splash.... My guess is March of 2023 the earliest for release.

The PC version was such a game changer.

A 60 FPS update for the PS4/XBO versions for current gen would be really ace.

Unless they shadow drop an update for the console versions during tomorrow's showcase, that $1 will go a long way playing it on PC.

Some people are discovering there are “preorder links” on the Dragon’s Dogma site.  People are now speculating that they might reveal a full-on, RE2-4 style Remake of DD instead of a sequel, seeing as the whole western half of the original Gransys map was never used; A fully realized Dragon’s Dogma 1.   I would be 100% quite fine with this.  At this point, I’ll take anything game related to DD; Another DLC, a next gen patch for DA, Remake, DD2, anything… Gimme gimme gimme.

Give it time to click. The campaign is pretty dull until the Griffin mission. There is a lot of running around Gran Soren just triggering quests and long stretches of fighting goblins and undead without the cool, big monster fights.  Griffin/Hydra/drake fights is where the game shines but a lot of that is backloaded at the end.

The DLC Expansion Bitterblack Isle is where the game goes from good to fantastic. Best combat scenarios, best atmosphere, most epic moments. :punch

Bitterblack Isle is one of the greatest gaming dungeons of all time.  It was a "Legacy Dungeon" before they were cool.  :pimp  Absolutely fanatastic...

Yeah the game is a bit of a slow burn at first, but unlocking movesets still way later in the game with the mass of vocations too, the gameplay just keeps getting better throughout even multiple playthroughs..   :delicious  Personally, I find the gameplay and customization still untouchable, even to the likes of Elden Ring.  Still to this day, no other game allows clothing and armor to be mix and matched the way this game allows... Gameplay hit detection is spot on and just feels so damn good and satisfying... I could go on about this game.  Gameplay is truly king in DD.

Started another game last night.  Only had time to get to Gran Soren and upload my pawn at the Inn.  This game still looks pretty great upscaled tbph.

Man... After playing it so much back on PS3, everything is so familiar, yet playing it now with a much higher resolution, it breathes some new life into it.. Of course riding the high of sequel hype, it's awesome playing this and imagining just how incredible DD2 will be!  There's a lot of other details I don't recall back then too, so it's been a fun refresher.  Strider/Ranger class is the bees knees in this game.  Unleashing arrows turns this game into a medieval RE of sorts...  Just unload on them, stamina providing.

Got reminded how tense things get during any extended quest when dusk creeps in slowly... The sense of adventure (and terror) is full fledged.  Not having any spammy fast travel (in the beginning) and inventory management, in hopes you brought enough, makes this game exhilarating... Granted, that being said, it does demand some time to travel...  But like Death Stranding, it's about that journey moreso than the destination..  The side quest I just barely made it through early on was escorting Raney to the Great wall..  Forgot how much of a trek this was.. Barely made it and lost my two pawns along the way.  But made it to a camp and set off back to Gran Soren the following morning.  Need to go back to Cassardis and do Quina's quest in Witchwood.  Always enjoyed that one... Going through Witchwood when the dusk is coming?  :whew

If any one is on PS4/5, my pawn is named Twigg.  She's a fighter; soon to be warrior, class at around lvl 17 (18?) She's very loyal and a great protector of the Arisen, but she loves to talk.  :D
