Heavy Rain appeals to some people. It doesn't appeal to others. It's a niche title. There are certainly niche titles that I love while at the same time recognizing they aren't made for everyone. And as rabid as it becomes, the defense typically doesn't just appear out of thin air, it's usually instigated by someone looking for an argument (or in the case of Green Man, a nice link for this thread).
