Oh man, The League is amazing. There was a quick quip in the most recent episode about what constitutes going too deep into looking for someone in your past online and five pages into google is considered too much :lol

I heard about that leak, I'll just wait until I can watch it on HD on my big TV.

MKV->MP4 is a snap with Handbrake. Just set it to "high spec" and let her rip. Then drop it on a USB drive and play it from your PS3.

I'm super picky about zombie fiction, and I'm getting frustrated with how shitty its getting.

To me, Zombieland was completely unnecessary. People enjoyed it, great. But it didn't move the genre forward in any way. The funny zombie movie had been perfected by Shaun of the Dead.

We needed a good SERIOUS piece of zombie fiction. One that deals with the turmoil that goes a long with having to deal with the shit that comes with it.

Having to shoot his wife was a great and sad moment
[close]

Also when he went to find the zombie in the park to put it out of its misery, there was a great sense of humanity. You felt bad for her.

So far, its doing everything I wanted it to.

I hate his wife though. She looks like a crackwhore.

I'm re-reading the comics, and am surprised at how unsympathetic she is there, as well. I'd be like "PUT ME BACK IN THE COMA..."

Well, yeah, it's just an MP4 format. Handbrake is a Swiss Army Knife for file conversion, not just DVDs. I have occasionally had problems with some conversion settings, but the method above worked a charm.

I picked up the first two episodes of Lie To Me because I like Tim Roth. He's great, everyone else is pretty average though the ladies are pretty. The writing seems like pretty standard procedural fare, along the almost plausible but esoteric lines of House, M.D. House is too predictable in structure, but I'm hoping Lie To Me will shape up a bit.

The Batman. I know it's a kid show but I caught an episode per chance it was nicely done. The action for a kid's show is missing but the small things like subtle flirting between Brunce and a waitress was really well done. Also the characterisation of the characters in particular Bruce who is ultimately a loner is probably better than Batman TAS as I remember it.

I think Batman TAS was more intrigued by the motivations of the villains that the hero. I feel like such a nerd  :(

FINALLY checked out Spaced. Great stuff. You can tell just from the first few episodes that Wright had a lot of talent.

That short interaction between Tim and his ex when he goes to pick up his stuff was way too accurate in an exaggerated sort of way.

I never understood the love for flight of the conchords.  It's one of the few things that when i watch it and don't like it I think "I'm fucking missing something.  This SHOULD be awesome" but it's just not to me.  My friend has tried so many times with clips and I'll laugh sometimes but overall I really, really don't like it.  I actually hate it.  Actually, I hate it so much I wish I liked it.

I generally hate any form of musical comedy. It strikes me as gimmicky like Carrot Top or something but Flight of the Conchords is the one expression of that I legit think is hilarious. I tend to find their music more clever and interesting than about 99% of "real" music.

I loved that show simply because it was nuanced comedy. It wasn't in your face. But then comedy is the most subjective thing possible.

I haven't gotten into Lucky Louie (even shake recommended it to me on FB) but I changed the channel to FX randomly and had watched a scene where Louie is out (I think) on a date with a woman? Its already going bad and its all awkward. They both go to the bathroom, she goes in first and some random fat dude comes up and has to use it so he starts slamming on the door and says "Hey, I gotta take a huge shit!" and keeps slamming then walks away. She comes out, looks at Louie and goes, "Go ahead, take your huge shit.". I died.

It's a buddy-cop procedural, only with P.I.s, set in a suburb of San Diego. But there's a lot more going on there. The writing, acting, and cinematography are all fantastic. I wrote a blog post about it: http://somewhatmanlynerd.com/blog/2010/10/22/watch-terriers/

Then there's also these 5 Reasons to Watch It: http://tv.blogs.pressdemocrat.com/15141/watch-terriers-while-you-still-can/?tc=ar

Terriers is great. It doesn't jump out and grab you by the balls. In fact I remember watching the first episode and thinking "yeah, that was nice", then not watching it for a month. Then felt like giving it another go around a month later and watched the next 4 episodes in one night.

It's nice to have a show that is able to be "adult" like other cable shows yet doesn't feel the need to constantly think that making their protagonists flawed, unlikable assholes is a substitute for depth.

Yeah that was sudden and I didn't really see it coming with her.

I still wouldn't describe Terriers as a procedural. The last episode didn't really have a crime to solve, but a situation to play, followed by another situation and nothing was really resolved. The jobs in the series don't always appear at the start, and the events just sort of happen instead of following any sort of crime solving outline. Plus, nearly everything in the last episode involved knowing of previous episodes. It felt standalone, while it was entirely not standalone. It actually created new problematic threads that are sure to come back.
