they can shout that they've opened up all the want, but there isn't an on/off button for the economy
people have to go out and buy things, and if the majority don't, if they're just as worried and stay home, it's only going to be worse for the businesses who are now paying employees but
seeing a fraction of business58% of Americans are more worried about the virus than the economyand that poll question is also not quite the same thing as asking, when restrictions are lifted are you immediately going to resume your life as before and put yourself and your loved ones at risk of death...some portion of people will give lip service to being more worried about the economy but when it comes down to it, given the choice they're not gonna risk it
widespread reporting of state reopening protests paint one picture but I'd question what percentage of people actually feel this way, we already know the whole reopen campaign is astroturfed and not a real US grassroots effort
when areas reopen you will see the curve un-flatten by some amount, but plenty of people will continue to operate under lockdown conditions
