achievements are for gays

Your opinion is unfortunately invalid, sorry - if you did majority of the game, you would have the achievement - please provide proof

game am sex. texture pop in is pretty wild sometimes.

How bad are we talkin?
Like whole objects can pop in a few seconds late sometimes. I'd say noticeably worse than Gears. Which is still not that bad. It's better than Halo 2 for sure.

UE3 sucks, kill it already.

UE3 rocks, when Epic is handling it.

I wonder when will developers jump on id Tech 5 or CryENGINE2.

still though, Bioshock and Mass Effect are great UE3 based games.

Meh, even UT3 looks kinda bad.

I'm not saying ME is ugly. Anything but. But it seems like no team is able to get it to sing like Epic can, even a year after Epic set the bar.

Yeah, UT3 doesn't look all that hot, but it's a PC game, who cares!

Gears is excellent, but from what i have seen, ME beats it in term of scale.

in any case, i want to see more variety in graphics next year, hope someone use something other than UE3 because it's kinda getting boring.

About 7 hours in, the game's not bad and they really went all out on the soundtrack in this.  It also gets brownie points for including Keith David's voice :heartbeat

I think the complaints about the interface and inventory are pretty warranted, as I'm starting to see some problems now.  Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but there doesn't seem to be very many opportunities to unload junk that's been auto-looted during firefights, so I'll end up getting shitty gel instead of an upgrade that I might actually need.  Otherwise it's pretty firmly planted between rental and GotY material.

You've lied before Jotaro, and without achievements im not sure who to believe.

no I didn't lie, you're moronic if you believe that, I don't understand what the hell you've even been talking about for weeks, if that's about DiRT or Blue Dragon framerates then I didn't try to deceive, what's the point of scheming a deception over something so trivial?

I don't want to check achievement shit, I don't connect my 360 online very often and put my Live profile to private long ago to avoid dealing with such stalkerish crap

but I can relate to random events in the game that only someone who'd have played would know

but even at that if you're that paranoid then I don't have to prove shit, I love Bioware games and completed it because I wanted to see how the plot ended and how the game turned out, how well Bioware succeeded at making a next-gen RPG

Who cares about Jotaro supposedly lying? MASS EFFECT.

I'm exploring random planets. I have a certain goal now but I dunno what I'm doing. I raided some random pirate fort on a some desolate, unsettled planet, and those guys are owning me.

When do I know I can heal? Because I'll have tons of Medi-gels and sometimes it won't let me heal wtf.

At this point I don't know what to believe. Mondain says teh game is easy for gamers like us when it is extremely challenging. Me and Kev both agree that the game's combat is pretty damn deep.

I like it so far,  but I found even the first mission 'challenging' on normal in that it took me a few tries on my first go. I like how its basically GRAW + RPG + Future + Goliath from Gargoyles as my commander. I agree with the inventory complaints tho, wtf its a screen away.

I just used the default character model that Bioware has been using for more than a year to promote the game along with the default name (John) and class that the character had (soldier, I reckon)... perhaps that means that this class has better fighting abilities than the characters you guys are using

the game has really been easy based on my experience, at some passages I had to retry 2-3 times but it wasn't a big deal or very frustrating either, most of the times it had to do with the tank-based missions, where too many Geth units would shoot at the same time... I couldn't believe how easy the last level was, and the last boss only took like 4 medigel packs to beat and it wasn't any special challenge either, it seems that you become pretty overpowered near the end

I only played for like 20 minutes because I was sick yesterday.

This is another game, like AC and Mario Galaxy, that I am clearly getting the most out of since I paid little attention to its development.

Honestly, folks, following development, reading every preview and article online, does nothing, NOTHING, good to your expectations and enjoyment of a game.  You will find more to like if you go in blind, likely because everything good will be a surprise, and you didn't build up any expectations of perfection.

When the hell do I get money so I can upgrade my armor? I've updated my armor 3 times the entire game so far and there's so much better armor, upgrades, weapons out there and I'm stuck with crap I've found in chests like the entire game so far.

I'm on a space station and fighting Biotic Terrorists. Pretty tough battle. The layout makes it easy for those guys to sneak up on you and cast some fancy magic spell that cripples you on the ground, giving them the opportunity to kick your ass.

I don't know, but I did the achievement somehow (at least if I remember). Just explore the galaxy and you'll see some planets. See if you can land there or something.

I'm starting to regret being an engineer, and I think that's been half of my trouble with the game's difficulty so far, but I'm starting to learn how to work around that. Since Engineers only concentrate on pistols and heal magic, I need Biotics. If you aren't going soldier or something, you're going to NEED a Biotics based character in your party. My ideal party this playthrough: Ash and Kaiden. Good balance, as Ash is a soldier and Kaidan's a Sentinel.

Once you get used to using Marksmanship/Overkill;etc. to buff up your attacks, and using Throw and Lift as an advantage, the battles go a lot more smoothly.
