go to the matron in lower city in Shattrath to start the quest (if it's still startable)

here's the quest line:

I have been contemplating moving my 70 Troll Warrior to another server, and perhaps Muradin will do ;)  How many EB'ers are there and how often do you get together?  I'm not that interested in raiding, but wouldn't mind tanking Karazahn and some Heroics.

MAF has a few 70s; Keith, Doug, and I are all in our 60s working our way through Outland. Eric P is like 50 something, I think. We are kind of the upper vanguard - there's a LOT of lowbie mid-20 alts right now, tho.

I dunno if we're ever gonna make Kara or heroics, at least not before Lich King hits. We'll be lucky to hit Tempest Keep.

Okay, I'm gonna start playing today, most probably. Out to get a couple time cards at Best Buy today. I also invited my friend to play on the same server, so I was wondering what else you guys might need in your Guild. He said he wanted to roll Priest. Need a Priest?

it can never hurt to have a Priest, though right now I think we need Warriors most of all - we have some Pallies moving up the ranks, so I guess they can tank/heal until the highest levels

I got to play around a bit yesterday, and got to level 4/5 with a few different variations. One thing I liked about FFXI was that you could switch jobs at any time. You're kind of tied down in this.

I like to tank in MMO's, so warrior isn't too bad. Troll seems to start off with better racial skills then undead, but I like the undead plotline better from what I've seen. Are any races clearly better for the job?

Hunter seems cool too, and seems like it would be a lot better at soloing.

Question~ Which of these is better at soloing, and which one is cheaper to play?

hunter and warlock are great for soloing.

warlock and paladin are the most expensive to play because of the cost of their skills being actually higher.  they do however get their mounts for free, as opposed to the typical 100 gold for the rest of the classes.

thankfully unlike ffxi where one race is best for one job, that isn't really the case for WoW.  It comes down to whatever racial skill set you prefer.  I think that Troll Warrior wouldn't be too bad, and if you like, at about level 6 or so, you can actually make the trek to the undead starting zone and quest up from there.  In fact you'll probably want to, because Orc, Troll and Tauren all get kind of shuffled through to the Barrens, which is absolutely horrible to quest through.

Thanks Eric.  :-*

It's good to hear I can escape the Troll story.  :-X

Saving for a mount scares me, I've heard horror stories. I also need to read up on tradeskills. Fun stuff.

One thing I really like about WoW (and most MMO's since) is how you get XP for questing. Makes early leveling a breeze, so I get to check out a lot of skills quickly.

Pst. in the post-BC era, one should absolutely shuffle off to Eversong and Ghostlands. :)

Also, while the L40 mounts are practically free, the L60 mounts are about 2/3 the cost but 300% as annoying to get. I'm just going "regular" land epic

Don't flying mounts cost a zillion dollars?

And to the dude who asked, Hunters are great solo classes, but watching out for your pet can be a pain in the ass in heavy aggro areas, at least in my experience. Warriors are fun as fuck, because you can just ignore your health bar and fuck everybody's shit up, in most cases. And IIRC, Orcs are usually better warriors, that's what I'm rolling, at least.

Warrior racials:
http://www.wowwiki.com/Starting_a_Warrior#Race_Selection

I think with 10% faction discount, the skill+mount cost is:

Land (40) - 90G
Epic Land (60) - 630G
Flying (70) - 900G
Epic Flying (70) - 5200

it's actually pretty easy to get the gold now that dailies quests are in - you can get 100g in two hours of Sunwell dailies without breaking a sweat

TVC: If you save your cash, you should have 630 by 63, 64 at the latest. Just do quests!

getting a land mount is easy, and an epic land mount is almost a must (and not hard once you hit Outland)

flying mount takes a few days but is well worth it. epic flying...yeesh.

Didn't they make it easy to go from 60-70? I thought Blizzard said 60-70 is like going from 1-60, which isn't saying much NOW because 1-60 is a cakewalk, I hear.

Exactly. I remember leveling very fast even when I was lv50-60 in the Burning Steppes for instance. It's very easy to level in outlands if you do a lot of instances (while rested of course) but level grinding is hard for me when I'm soloing. But then again, I noticed I seemed to get way more XP doing Ramparts/BF than I am now doing Mana Tombs for instance

Outlands seems longer at first because all the zones are so massive and there's so many quests, but it is easier to level once you figure out where everything is because so many quest objectives are right by each other.

Speaking of leveling, someone recently did 1-70 in 1 day, 2 hours.

Well, I wouldn't be much worse off than I am now with my warrior, who I only use for dailies.  I dunno if you'd want a 70 to just help you blast through dungeons, as that kinda takes the fun and challenge out of it.  When I'm more sober maybe I'll check up on the server's guilds, to see if there's any small-scale groups that wanna run Karazahn.  How often do you guys manage to get together?  If everyone is still in their 60's I imagine most people aren't frequent players.

Coongrats, you're at the part of the game where I quit due to pvp players being assholes!  Enjoy trying to quest in Tarren Mill while players twice your level gank you for no reason other than the lols!  You never get anything done unless you have someone of the gankers equivalent level to help you out.

Also, should I bother with these elemental leatherworking quest?  The components are soooooooo rare.

PVP servers dont actually produce better PVPers. They like to think thats the case, but what happens on PVP servers amounts to nothing more than a numbers game. Like Alterac Valley this requires A LOT less skill.

Non-PVP servers allow for 1v1 duels between sides, which imo is a much better gauge of skill between sides.

I really regret not having my main on a PvP server though, because it's sure as shit more fun in the long run. But like you said, it's aggravating being jumped by 3 people at once when you're trying to get a quest done.

One time I leveled on a brand new PvP server where everyone was about the same level and all the zones were packed with players who spent more time pvping than leveling. I remember kiting some 35 warrior half way down to Booty Bay :lol That was probably the most fun I ever had leveling.

I didn't know T234 was on Tichondrious :o Horde or Alliance?
