you can't accept the premise that a politician doesn't require much experience to become president. 
Why? Cheney had tons of experience. Should he be president? 
I actually think principle is more important than experience. 
You are confusing a necessary condition with a sufficient condition. Experience is necessary, but it is not sufficient: other things are important, such as intelligence, knowledge, patience, humility, etc.

If you don't have experience, then you are not qualified to be president.
