I've had two different people at work tell me Battle: LA was great (person 1: "It had balls, man." Person 2: "It really put YOU in the action.")
I'm trying to catch up with the James Bond films that I'm less familiar with, and I started with On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I kinda wish I hadn't done that because now I fear that everything else I see will be downhill from here. It was just a dang terrific movie, mostly removed of all the Bond-isms of the rest of the series, but not really lacking for them. Unlike pretty much every other film in the franchise, there's an actual, heartfelt relationship at the center of the film, and its utterly charming. Seeing a nice, humane relationship in an otherwise cartoonish (but not really that much) spy thriller centered things considerably. I mean, how often have you been invested in James Bond's happiness?
Also, Lazenby was better then I expected in the role, its a damn shame he never continued the character, as he's good here and he's plain great in the action scenes. Also, holy shit at the stuntwork, especially the bobsled chase finale. That shit was crazy. The rest of the film was ace too.
