Die Hard 2 was worse than Die Hard 3, and Rambo 2 is better than Rambo 3. Also Star Trek 2 should have been a lot higher than 1 and 3. Not too bad, though.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Also LOTR Trilogy should be straight 10s.

That trilogy thing is pretty awful but I'm sure you could defend a bunch of those choices.  But Die Hard 2 better than Die Hard 3 is salad tosser talk.  Same with Temple of Doom over Last Crusade.  What is the defense there? "uh, I like little asian kids.  Dr. Jones whipping a woman at the end of the film got me into s&m.  I prefer my female leads to be screaming nonstop for the entirety of the film." Die Hard 2 is "Less minorities, nice shots of a dude's toned ass, more white people...did I mention a naked guy doing tai chi?"

Little Miss Sunshine
I assumed it was going to be Steve Carrell playing himself and annoying the fuck out of me so I avoided it for a long time.  But it was pretty damn good.  The little girl is super cute and the pageant scene is hilarious.  But you actually really feel bad for her before she goes on.  Pretty awesome movie.

I love Mouth of Madness. One of the last fairly modern horror movies that still has an old school feel.

I watched Kick Ass last night. It was good. Especially compared to most of the comic book fare that populates theaters. I probably didn't think it was quite as good as the hype but I did enjoy it. Pure nerd wish fulfillment which is why I can understand it being very popular among certain groups.

I think I'm finally gonna get around to watching that last Batman movie this week which I never bothered to see before.

Kick Ass was pure fun. Doesn't hold up too well on multiple viewings, but I had a good time watching it the first time. And I couldn't help but laugh at how it ripped off the Batman Begins/TDK score. So awesome  :lol

I look forward to your review.

"overall the film was decent, not amazing like annoying Nolan fanboys say, but not the disaster others claim. It wasn't as hyper realistic as supporters claim, but not as outrageous as detractors say either. I thought Ledger's performance was good, although some people go overboard saying it was amazing. The Batman voice is kind of annoying, although some people complain about it too much - although obviously that's their opinion.

In the end I liked it, although I see why some people don't like it"

Better than its the greatest movie ever or its the worst movie ever style reviews that populate most forums.

For what its worth I thought the first one is pretty overated. I thought it was okay but not worth the mountain of internet hype. But then I find the incredibly dark haunted take on Batman a bit cloying.

BB is quite overrated. Really liked TDK though, although its fanboys certainly made me want to hate it. It's far from perfect, way too many hammy monologues but it still works.

I'll agree most things that don't involve the Joker are eh. Especially the last...20 minutes with you-know-who

I'll try to keep an open mind.

It's not that Batman can't be dark. There are interpretations of Batman that are very dark that I like. Hell I love Frank Miller's almost psychotic take on the character. But there was something in that first film that rubbed me wrong. Like here was a movie clearly trying to be "grown up" and going for an oscar or something. And the over-praise on Bale was just too much.

TDK is pretty good overall, but you can really tear it apart if you want too, especially in a few distinct areas. Overrated as heck, though.

Yeah.  It's not a movie you can watch very often.  I was very hyped on it when it first came out but repeat viewings almost made me hate it for a while.  It should have spent some more time in editing.  But when it's great, it's really fucking great.  Grab a sandwich in between those moments though.

Can we all agree Bale is not a good actor? I think people confuse emotional range with dedication to a role. Losing or gaining 100 pounds for a role does not make you a good actor. De Niro gaining weight for Raging Bull isn't the crowning achievement of that role: it's his amazing acting. He brought a character to life.

Bale doesn't do much but yell and brood.

I don't have a problem with him per se. I think he's fine in certain roles. Like I think most actors are fine in certain roles. And not so good in others. I feel that way about roughly 95% of actors or actresses.

What becomes a bit tiresome is on places like GAF where a certain clique decides to spam the board with anything and everything they can about him because they think he is awesome. I don't know if it still occurs but I certainly remember there being a period on the OT side on gaf where bale was being spammed in every thread. Same thing occured with Johnny Depp before Bale.

I think we can all agree, PD.  You can't even really give him the insults of Michael Cera and Steve Carell by saying he plays the same character in everything.  Because all his characters are very different.  He just sucks so bad at acting that he somehow makes them all similar.  Terrible actor.

Her excels in some roles, like American Psycho. But what works well in that film doesn't work well in other films. You'd think playing a sociopath perfectly would make you the perfect Bruce Wayne, but imo he's pretty bad at the role.

American Psycho was a fluke.  Totally.  It hasn't carried over to any other movie I've seen him in.  It wasn't skill.  It was luck.  He's probably just a sociopath in real life.  Wasn't it confirmed he's a raging asshole?
