Star Trek Into Darkness is pretty boring.  I'm 15 mins from the end and just realized I've been browsing reddit for the last 15 and have no idea what's going on.

Yeah he was the standout performance for sure.

Elysium was too long, too heavy handed and poorly paced. Good concept, poor execution.

the conjuring was good. Its set in the 70s and the camera work is 70s horror style. Loved it. Like other Wan supernatural horror it kicks into overdrive in the final act and loses some appeal but it was really fun.

Yeah, I was surprised at how much I liked The Conjuring. A good, classic style horror film and definitely on of the better ones in recent memory. Some fun scares, good pacing, pretty good characters and the last act was a little silly but I kind of expected that. I'm looking forward to Insidious 2 - the first wasn't quite as good as Conjuring but I liked it and Wan has put out enough solid horror flicks for me to anticipate whatever he puts out. Very, very curious to see how he approaches a blockbuster in F&F7.

Saw the new Pokemon movie tonight.  Havin' kids, man.

Better than last year's, big ol' wtf is this shit @ Ash pretending he's meeting Mewtwo for the first time, dude was straight up murdered by him last time they met.  Anyway, the power of friendship conquered all and I don't have to see any of that shit for another year.

Technically, when Mewtwo "killed" him, at the end of the movie he wiped his memory.

But he met Mewtwo again in Mewtwo Returns and in that movie they teamed up.

They passed that point a few years ago. There are 16 Pokemon movies now, compared to 13 Land Before Times.

It's all about The Origin now. :bow Red :bow2

Mewtwo's a girl now.  And had his/her character completely reset.  Also, she's Batman/Superman now.  And god I hate that Dent kid with his random shitty English.  FANTASUTIKKU

So it's the same Mewtwo?

I'm not surprised if the writers forgot or deliberately reset his character considering the kids watching the movies now were -5 years old when the first came out.

me too. Wan has become pretty reliable to me for entertainment. I'm excited for insidious 2 and I think he might have great potential for blockbusters. He's good at creating tension.

Every year, like clockwork.  You get your Detective Conan, Doraemon, Power Ranger/Kamen Rider (x2), Precure (x2), Pokemon, and Anpanman, whether they have feature-length ideas or not.
The Crayon Shin-chan and Doraemon movies are usually 45 minute double-billed features, aren't they? They're basically made so the can be shown on TV a year after release, as a promotion for the current year's silver screen offering, it seems.

It was enjoyable, very loosely based on the actual story though.
The idea that michael bay can even turn in a movie with a discernible plot is surprising enough to most people.

MMOs are expensive. More expensive than most any game venture. They would have to have a way to monetize it in place.

Watched the Evil Dead remake. I thought it was terrible.

You can't make an earnest straight throwback movie like that today and remove the aspects of having an incredibly charismatic lead, silly sort of goofy tone, or a director with a great visual style.

What you are left with is instead a corny, dumb, boring, movie.

Also didn't the reboot do insanely well? $97 mil B.O. take on a $17 mil budget sez Wiki. For a horror film, that's pretty damn good. I don't see why that wouldn't grease the suits' wheels on more ED films. AFAIK ED2 is already in pre-pro.
