Got that covered! The wedding invite says some invitees have been asked to wear "pvp attire" to guard the reception

:lol

wait, are you guys Horde or Alliance?

Alliance

Green Man: it might be a bit hard to get early instancing done. Luckily, leveling goes by pretty fast at the early levels. Join a guild with people around your level, that should help too.

lolol

Haven't played in a week, and no real interest in resubbing. I'm going to resub simply to help my guild. Many guilds are breaking up or transferring. I'm tired of most of ICC. The interest I had in killing the LK has basically evaporated. A few weeks ago I was just tanking, essentially doing nothing considering Blizz gave tanks little to nothing to do in ICC...when I realized "wow, I don't want to be here for hard modes." The Ulduar hard mode grind was pretty damn challenging for my guild, and I had fun. There was just enough variation to keep me going. But of course after awhile the constant hard mode grind burned me out, and I was happy as fuck for ToC to come out.

I know at some point I'll get the WoW fever again, it's just not now.

Pretty sure the geographical changes will happen for everyone through a patch, you just won't be able to do the quests/interact and shit.

I wonder if I should just leave until Cata.

Why not just level something other than a Warrior to 80. Playing one class all the time gets boring fast.

I have a lv80 shaman

Anyway, my account got hacked. I think it was focused on the SCII beta considering I haven't played WoW since the 7th when my time expired, and none of my stuff has changed according to WoW Armory. I was playing the beta last night and ending around 4am lol. Tried to sign in today after some studying and got an authenticator prompt. I have never used an authenticator so it must have been put on my account. I changed my password and contacted Blizz (lines full) so I emailed as well.

Meh, hope this gets resolved. But maybe it's a good thing since I can now focus on my finals lol

Why did you never spend the $6 for an authenticator. Worth it for headache prevention and the mobile phone version is FREE.

Yesterday while trying to figure out wtf was up with my account, I contacted my guild leader over facebook to ask if my character had been online recently. He said no, then he mentioned the guild essentially broke up; apparently most of our core left, joining the current guild with the "most popular/trending" label; I'm sure you've seen a guild come out of nowhere on your server, formed from former members of other guilds, and start siphoning off members from other guilds, including perhaps the most respected/liked couple on the server. They've been around for a few months, and we laughed them off because they weren't progressing particularly well despite having a good lineup.

Once I resub I'll have to make a decision. I've kind of lost interest in raiding, so my decision will have more to do with joining a guild full of people I like. The guild mentioned above fits that description. Plus I won't be in a situation where I have to raid x amount of days, which is the situation in another guild that many of our other core members joined.

Another decision has to concern whether I continue playing until Cata comes out, or whether I just wait for it.

I was always the guy that got geared and then hopped guilds :-\

If you've lost interest in raiding and aren't big on PvP then there's not a whole lot left to do, is there? Time to start saving that sub money for a 360 and playing Starcraft 2 in the meantime

True, but I want to give it a couple more months and see if I change my mind. Plus I definitely want to get back and see what's up with my friends who left the guild, and I wound up not being able to attend an in-game wedding (lol I know) so I want to get on and give congrats.

WoW is still a fun game for me, I've spent a lot of time with it. But since the SCII beta came out I've lost interest in doing the same thing over and over again, ie raiding. The beta was followed by me focusing on other things, whether it was school or the census. There was a time when I made sure to get all my shit done before 9pm in anticipation of raiding, and if raids were canceled I'd feel disappointed and bitch about it to other people who felt similar. Last month I'd look at the clock and realize 9pm was coming, but not feel like getting on.

I played StarCraft with my brothers for years. Often they'd come over during the weekend to play, and of course I'd look at the clock and see it was raid time, but feel more interested in having fun with my brothers than blowing through ICC.

Eventually I'll get the WoW "bug" again and want to play.

You'll probably just fizzle out eventually. I followed the same trajectory (this game is the shit -> this game is shit -> hey I think I want to play WoW again) several times before I finally was bored with the game and dropped it altogether. But then I was also playing upwards of 6 hours a day, so who knows

I'm seriously considering getting back into WoW but I want to know that I can play with somebody when I get on. I'm not super needy, but the occasional run-through and gold handout would be nice.

What server do you guys play on again and what allegiance is it?

Looking up at the posts, however it looks like you guys are breaking :(

Actually, PD are you in a guild? Anybody running dungeons anymore? I kinda want to roll a DK and power level so I can get some raid action before Cata. Is that even possible anymore?  :(

EDIT: I rolled a Pally on Bloodscalp and it's fun, I have like 3000g from my friend, but I don't think this is a raid server :(

Cata raids:
10- and 25- man raids in Cataclysm will share the same lockout
Normal versus Heroic mode will be chosen on a per-boss basis in Cataclysm raids, the same way it works in Icecrown Citadel
10- and 25- man bosses will be close in difficulty
10- and 25- man bosses will drop the exact same items
25-man bosses will drop a higher quantity of loot, but not quality.
For the first few raid tiers, our plan is to provide multiple smaller raids. Instead of one raid with eleven bosses, you might have a five-boss raid as well as a six-boss raid.

10 and 25 mans share same lockout? Fuck that. Same loot? Fuck that.

I like the idea of smaller raids though. Focusing on the  big, main raid gets boring after awhile. I liked being able to knock ToC out the park in an hour or so, then move on to bigger things.

I hate the shared lockout. I like being able to do both 10 and 25 in the sane night.

My guild has 3 ICC groups a week and all three go at the same time, but if one finishes early they'll go do a 10 man or something on a different lockout. Basically we do four bosses a night and tonight we finished early so we went and did both VOA 10/25. With the shared lockout you couldn't do that.

As someone who's always been with 10 man guilds, this should excite me. But eh, I always liked getting into well run 25 mans over the weekend for a chance at better weapons or trinkets. I don't consider myself a loot whore though.

While I'm not one to complain about bad players getting the gear I "worked so hard" to get, I do hope the decision to include multiple smaller raids leads to some of them actually being challenging, and reward some cool stuff.

I prefer 10 man runs. I like playing with 10 people that I know the habits and tendencies of; players I play with in multiple areas of the game, rather than 25 man runs with an odd assortment of players I hardly know, only see in 25 man raids and who are all part of different cliques.

I never found a 25 man run to be "fun", successful often yes, but never fun.

But then again, what they really need to work on is making the game dynamic. They keep messing with raids, but sticking to the limited tank, dps, healer roles.

If this means more focus on crafting raids, cool. I really lost interest in ICC after a few months of "stand here to spread damage, move left to right everytime x happens, etc" tanking. I've tanked everything except the Lich King, and can't say anything was challenging to me as a tank. Really seemed like healers were the only people being challenged, but a healer is more qualified to say that than me.

Honestly Halls of Reflection and Pit of Saron are more challenging than anything I've done in ICC.

I prefer 10 mans as well, but I've had lots of fun with 25 man groups. The 25 man ICC runs we did consisted of our guild and some others, so I had been playing with nearly everyone in the group for 1-3 years. I've been in some successful 25 man raids where I didn't know many people, and those could be quite annoying. Lots of dps dick measuring, loot drama, shockingly bad decisions, etc

The SCII beta is about to end, maybe I'll be able to get back into WoW then. My time runs out in late June I think. This might be the last time I play until Cata, assuming I come back for it. I only resubbed to address some drama that arose in my absence.

Yea, that part sucks, and hopefully will be removed or at least a setting you have to choose to turn on to allow yourself to be seen by friends' friends.

I really didn't like the heroic strike change for warriors. I couldn't hold aggro for shit
