The "yall serious" part really uh...wtf

(Image removed from quote.)

Made a new character, went Horde. Started over my pal's server of Dragonmar. Made it to level 5. He helped me out. Did a shit ton of quests, made it to Brill, then we journeyed to the Undead Capital.

This is 99999 x better than FFXI.

Alliance sucks compared to this. Horde all the way. Does the Alliance get ooze trickling out of skeletons into a giant pool of slime?

Man, that is so badass.

barrens and post barrens may make you want to quit

I hate horde 20s leveling

btw Xistenz (in first pic) is actually a girl. We used to be guildies. I've met more than a few female players, many are older chicks (oftentimes with kids/jobs/etc)

I made it to level 10 and I feel liked I'm progressing so much despite such a low level.

I mean:

I have so many options. Game has excellent sense of progression, options and variety so far.

Help me with the keyboard shortcuts guys. For some reason I'm having trouble using the shortcuts for the action menu. Is it preferable to clicking?

Got to do some more Ulduar 10 man today, we did six bosses before people started leaving. Never seen so many disconnects and random afks

in terms of the new bosses I encountered

Auriaya: I thought we going to wipe for sure but we one shotted her easily. We had three hunters, all of whom are dps whores who attempt to out do each other. So of course they weren't stacking with everyone else, instead standing back and shooting. The pouncing adds made this extremely annoying to OT

Thorim: Wow, this is the funnest raid fight that I've done in WoW. I did the gauntlet portion which rocked. The actual boss fight is fun as well. We wiped once due to three dps disconnecting, and I kinda wished we wiped more just so I could do the fight again  :lol

We also did hard mode for Flame Leviathan which was just as easy as the easy mode.

Reading PD's posts about Ulduar almost makes me wish I didn't quit. Have you done any of the hard modes in 25 man? I'm thinking about hopping on my friend's warrior one week and tagging along for a run with his guild.

Yeah, something like:

1 - Stealth
2 - Main attack
3 - Eviscerate
4 - Gouge
5 - Kidney Shot
6 - Kick

Or at least that was my 1-6. You might even want to use the tilde for stealth and 1 for Kick if you have stubby fingers. One of the best things about rogues is the relatively small spellbook; it really makes the keybinding simple.

Whatever you do, don't click or keyboard turn. That's like an open invitation to get assraped if you're on a PVP server

That's when you pan your camera left and right using keys instead of using the mouse. It's considered noobie because you can flick and turn in place, but have to rotate at a constant angular velocity.

Dunno if WoW still has the dumb bunny-hopping friendly PvP code, but keyboard turning was bad news bears in PvP when I played.

Hold down the right mouse button while the cursor is in the playfield and you essentially control the game like an FPS.  That's how you should be strafing, moving and turning.

Keyboard turning is just holding down the A or D keys so that your character slowly rotates.....like Resident Evil tank controls.  It's distinguished mentally-challenged.

Haven't done the 25 man hard modes. I definitely want to do more shit on heroic to get gear upgrades. I have a couple T8 prot warrior pieces and they aren't much better than 7.5, if at all. I do like the two set bonus though, give increases the crit chance of Devastate by 10%

We also did hard mode for Flame Leviathan which was just as easy as the easy mode.

There are 5 levels of difficulty for Flame Leviathan (you did 1 tower).  Each tower you leave up adds X% health and a new ability or add.  FL has 23 million with 0 towers, something like 89 million with 4.  And you have to deal with Freya adds, a fire wall, and freezing and lightning beams.  It's still not that hard a fight but it requires good organization.

25 man: FL+4 and Heartbreaker are down as well as all normal modes.  Hodir HM should go down Thursday if we stop sucking.

I lead the 10 man and co-lead the 25 man.

So if I can't use the keyboard to turn, how do I turn if I'm in a bind?

Starting over tonight on another realm. My best friend is on Laughing Skull and I'm joining his guild. I'm starting over as a blood elf but I'm going to stick with rogue. Plan on making it to level 10 tonight. Since I've gained a lot of experience and knowledge about the game that should only take 2-3 hours.

So far I'm doing pretty well tonight. Right now I'm level 7 and I'm taking a break. My goal to reach level 10 in just 2-3 hours may be fulfilled.

Blood Elf is fun as fuck. I really like the quests I'm getting. I just did a quest where I turned two guys into pigs and I'm currently on an assassination mission because we believe there's a traitor or spy amongst us.

Much much more involving than the quests I got an Undead so far.

Leveling up my druid in vanilla WoW during launch was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had, the depth of the druid class was amazing when exploring this virgin world for the first time. Open world PvP was great with him too and you could just do so many different things with a druid and goof around. I could never switch back after being a druid, because none of the other classes where so versatile and got boring for me.

Just a shame a I was resto  :lol

Playing a hybrid in a hybrid style is crazy fun, way better than the regular class roles.  Unfortunately, Blizzard never made hybrid style gaming worth anything in endgame, so hybrid playstyle has disappeared.

At the endgame there are only three playstyles: dps, healing, tank. I'd like to see a crowd control class like enchanter or bard sometime.

Who the hell wants to spend an entire boss fight buffing people or crowd controlling?  That's the shit people don't like to do.  All Blizzard needs to do is keep making interesting encounters.  The more fights like Shade of Aran and Mimiron the better.

Did Freya for the first time last night. We wiped on first try due to not spreading out enough before killing the exploding adds. On the second try we completed owned it. Overall it wasn't a hard fight imo; once the add phase was over Freya's heath dropped like a fly

Then we tried Mimiron (my first time) and failed, but it was late and people were tired. On first try I failed hard, running into the mines while trying to get away from the overcharge lol. But after that the mines were never a problem. If heals were better I'm sure we would have shitcanned him

And I got http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45458 from Hodir
No one in the group could use it except me, so it was basically handed over (for 20 dkp) :lol

Nah, I gotta disagree.  The boss fights are feeling like the same song, but just a different dance. Ulduar really hasn't given me much fun in playing it. I'd like a counter caster, buffer/debuffing class. The game needs something to get the fans away from watching numbers and actually playing more adaptively within the game. That is why hybrid was fun, being adaptive, more engaging and active within the game world.

Just quit and go play Guild Wars.  You know you want to.

Fighting Yogg-saron is nothing like fighting C'thun.  The only similarity is the body is immune to damage until you weaken something on the inside and they both have tentacles.  Other than that they're completely different fights.

Ulduar does have tanks tanking, healers healing, and dps dps'ing.  In that way it's same old same old.  On the other hand, the encounter design on certain fights is incredible.  Hard-mode Mimiron is absolutely fantastic in every way.  Probably the best fight the game has ever seen.    Freya 3G and Flame Leviathan +4 are up there as well.  Overall it's my favorite instance since, well, probably Kara (which was great before it was nerfed into the ground) but it's a better instance than that.

Got my toon to level 11 and I'm now in the ghostlands. Is it possible for me to teleport over back to Undead City and do Undead quests even though I'm a BElf?

I've learned herbalism and skinning. Figured they'd be the most useful. Also learned first aid.

Right now I'm curious about talents. Don't know what route to go with. Don't wanna fuck up my character like I did in Diablo once.

Combat. Efficient, simple, and very nub-friendly. Spec into swords. I'd go up to Adrenaline Rush and then dump points into Subtlety/Assassination later on. And FYI, you can redo your talents (for a bullshit fee that increases exponentially) at your class trainer.

Combat spec is awesome. Poolin' points into SS is awesome because now I can save energy and get to 3, 4, 5 combo points way faster. Stealth > Gouge > SS > SS > Finishing Move is a badass rotation due to this, especially after I just recently upgrade my main hand sword.

Did General Vezax for first time today; took us 3 tries; would have two shotted him if one of our top dps didn't get disconnected. Didn't kite during surge of darkness. We just alternated between shield wall (2min cd), pain suppression, etc.

After that we tried Yogg. We have the first phase on lock, but need to really work on that second phase.

Is that Ulduar 10 or 25, PD?  edit: NM, looks like 25 (or not, saw Mimiron's bacers and didn't realize they were from FL).  They nerfed mind control in phase 1 which made it really easy.  Your melee just have to learn the layout of the brain rooms now and you should get a kill.

It's 10 man. We wiped many times, but we were making progression. I was outside the portals killing/interrupting shit while noticing everyone in the brain room's health bars depleting pretty fast. Eventually it got better but yea, once they're familiar with the room/layout I think we'll be fine.

Do you usually go into the portal or stay out? On the outside we'd usually try to move in the same direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise) killing constrictors, crushers, interrupting corrupter. But a few people would eventually start going the opposite way focusing on crushers while a constrictor was on the other side strangling someone.
