Well, he is a terrible prose stylist, and there is a fuckload of it to read. That's kind of a serious handicap. All the books do well is plot and character. That's plenty, but the show is doing a great job on those fronts too. Plus, it doesn't take forever to get where it's going.

Go on then, articulate your displeasure. I can take it!
seriously if someone came up to me and were all "myeeeh he's a terrible prose stylist myeeh /monocle" I would pluck out your eyes you can't ever read again.
What do you say in a situation like that? They're wrestling? One of them lost a contact lens and they're trying to find it?
Surprisingly my religious parents LOVE Spartacus. My mom said the sex was gratuitous but the story and violence make it tolerable. While she was complaining about the sex my dad was just sitting at his laptop with a smile on his face GoT has considerably less action and more sex than Spartacus, dunno whether they'd like it. I have a feeling my mom would like it, for the more character drama stuff
I can't keep all the characters' names in my head. I just refer tot hem by my own nicknames. Like cripple boy, wench from the wild, that whore, fatty balds, the imp, breastfeeder and fingers got ate.
Can you see how condensing a book that you never finished might be a good thing
HBO’s Game of Thrones has made its first casting hire for season 2:Natalie Dormer, who memorably played the seductive and doomed Anne Boleyn on Showtime’s The Tudors, has been added to the fantasy drama’s regular cast.Dormer will play Margaery Tyrell, a (minor spoiler alert) beautiful and shrewd young woman from the influential House Tyrell. She’s pledged to marry the late King Robert’s brother, Renly Baratheon, as part of House Tyrell’s support for his bid to seize the Iron Throne from King Joffrey. In addition to The Tudors, Dormer is also appearing in the upcoming Captain America.
that article was confusing film noir and literature noir all throughout, it was sloppy
