Is Jensen's coat really that long? You're in first person so much I don't know. Huh, apparently it is. Long coats are tacky anyways unless you're a woman.

Been listening to the soundtrack that came with it regularly since I got it.

The soundtrack's great, one of my all-time favorites.

Played through Demon's Crest again.  Game still kicks ass.

Playing through Crusader of Centy for the first time.  It's Zelda-y.

I played Trine for an hour or two. That game needs either way more variety (braindead skeletons get boring fast), or more boss encounters (I only fought 1 enemy so far that kinda seemed like a mid-boss). It feels like I'm playing one really long level that never ends. And there's no tension either, since there's pretty much no penalty for death. So the game's kinda boring, but at least it's pretty.

I beat Trine and it continues exactly like you describe, apart from an interesting final level that adds a sense of verticality and actual challenge to things. The skeleton battles and no penalty for dying got old quickly, and I'm not a fan of the strange physics engine it uses... but I enjoyed playing through for the awesome graphics and occasional cool puzzle. Not in a rush to play the sequel, maybe if I didn't have 16billion other games I'd rather play first.

i've... uh..... i've somehow finished pokemon black,man i feel so dirty,this is way worse than admitting to play loli rpg :-\

you know i can see the improvement in the pacing and i don't feel like punching in the face the guy who makes the music anymore so it's an improvement over my last pokemon experience
but it still feels too easy and braindead,i went with the fire starter and i got him to level 70,all of my other mon are at the level they were caught and i basicaly soloed the game with him which is pretty bullshit when you think that rock/paper/scissor is the whole deal with pokemon

also the ending it's kinda ridiculous,i remember finishing the original as a kid and it was like "let's see who's the champion" and now they got dragons fighting each other and a villain with a chorus :lol

uh, the solution to this is... don't pick the fire Pokemon? I don't mean to defend Pokemon, though I'm enjoying White myself, I haven't had the problem you had. I consistently have to rely on the Pokemon I've caught and keep them leveled, and actually utilize the elemental weaknesses. Pokemon's gonna be easy no matter what, it's meant to be, but aren't the starting Pokemon effectively difficulty levels? From what I understand:

Water = Easy
Fire = Normal
Leaf = Hard

But don't quote me on that.

i used to always pick the water starter too,i mean have you seen blastoise? he's a freaking turtle with cannons on it's shells,you don't get better than that

Quote
but aren't the starting Pokemon effectively difficulty levels?

not really,people say that because different pokemon matches up better or worse with the bosses of the game,so a starter pokemon that badly matches with a boss is of course going to give you an harder time
but everybody matches the same when it comes to the final battle,so the problem is that i shouldn't be able to get a level 70 pokemon so easily,there is already a rule that you get less experience when you are overleveled but it's pretty clear it's still not enforced enough

the game also throws so many junk fight at you "EHY I'M MOOK NUMBER 245,GO RATTATA VARIATION NUMBER 5,OOOHHH HE'S ALREADY DEAD"

Well it's strange.  I just opened up the Mothrakk (so i'm currently lvl 21) and the monster is listed as level 25, though the mission itself is lvl 20.  It constantly one shots me after I manage to hit it.

I guess I don't play enough shooters :lol Definitely more a stealth game but I found the combat competent, it never bothered me when I had to start shooting. And you need to be right up on a person to use the stun gun, doesn't need a reticule. Really looking forward to Dishonored now for some more Stealth FPS goodness.

It really isn't. Oscar here dislikes Bethesda games because you journey through the wilds exploring. Meanwhile, Deus Ex is journeying through boring cities exploring.  Both feature open ended rpg gameplay, both have jank. But whereas Bethesda games are better at actual combat - particularly Skyrim - Deus Ex: HR is better at stealth. Deus Ex quests tend to send you to places you've already been so you have to constantly backtrack to locations and do them over again, Bethesda games feature fast travel to make travel and backtracking less of a hassle.

The amount of times I have to go through that crappy bus station in Detroit is driving me nuts, but Oscar can't journey through the wilds of Skyrim?

It's really simple stealth.  I'd compare it to MGS1, in that you only worry about the vision cone and noise, and you can buy upgrades to turn invisible and stuff to make it easier.  Well, you hide bodies, but it's as simple as dragging them into a place no one looks.  The npc paths are such that they'll never deviate unless you alert them.  Plus there are vents everywhere to help sneak past enemies.

i've mentioned this in the random gaming thread but it need a mentions here too because it's so addictive,basicaly you place cards on ground and you use them to build a galactic empire and one thing i love about the game is so how it works thematicaly so much

in one round i got a diplomat card which let me play hostile faction cards without having the required military and another card that rewarded me for doing thing this way,then i played a card that gave me a bonus for having no military and in short i achieved victory trough galactic hippiness :lol :lol :lol

give this a try

So Deus Ex has been thoroughly QA'd and has fewer parts where you fall through the world mesh?

DWG3 is excellent- DWG1 is also good; stay clear of DWG2

DWG3 is basically the improved mechanics + some new from DWG2, but without the broken grind-fest game mode. DWG1 has a better single player story though, but way fewer gundams/mobile suits

The Amazing Spider-Man - It's open world Spidey with Arkham combat. Collecting comic pages (some 500 or so) unlocks digital comics within the game. I'm actually spending more time doing that as they have some decent classic issues that relate to Spidey/Lizard etc. Only one that isn't that great is the McFarlane intro of the modern lizard (which the movie one isn't based on) which will cause more bitching on GAF that he doesn't have a snout in the movie.

It's between Web of Shadows and Shattered Dimensions for me.  The character, and as a complete 'game', of Shattered Dimensions is better, but I really like the combat of Web of Shadows.

Around the same time WoS came out, the Spectacular Spider-man cartoon was airing and I wanted a sequel to take on that style similar to how Ultimate was handled.  WoS finally got Spider-man combat and it's a shame it was dropped when Beenox took over.  But Shattered Dimensions was surprisingly great, like a continuation of the PS1 games.  It's also disappointing that Griptonite is off the DS Spider-man games.

I'll probably play the new one when it's on PC later on.

You guys scared me off Edge of Time (that and a PC version never came out), and I played most Spider-man game since the early 90s.

I actually reinstalled Bionic Commando 09 yesterday to play a swinging game.  I'm pretty lazy, or else I'd go to my garage and dig out a copy of tribes vengeance too.

I haven't played Rage, but Deus Ex HR's open world is quality over quantity.  Hubs are small and without much fat, so if you look around, you're going to find something that matters.  It's more Metroid-like than an Elder Scrolls or GTA.

yeah, all Marvel games before Amazing Spider-Man are retail only.  Some are only available at walmart or target or kmart or one of those places.  I don't know what the new terms are or if ASM is an exception.  All of Raven's games (Wolverine, Xmen Legends, MUA), spider-man games, etc. releasing on Steam would be awesome.

I think this narrowness suits a sci fi game very well, sci fi often has this claustrophobic edge to it.

Don't get me wrong Rage is beautiful, and everything is so well done, but I couldnt care for all those quests somehow and I gave up in the town where you had to do the races.
