haha, just today I was at Target and saw Alpha Protocol for like $12 new.

They had Kane and Lynch 2 PC for $13.  That dropped fast.

Not my fault I played the superior PC version.  8)

I always wonder just how bad the console version was if the PC version was superior.  It was a rough ass PC game that had a lot of console carryovers like a crappy radial interface, bad acceleration, etc.

PC version was fine, rough around the edges definitely but it ran okay and only had a few minor glitches. Gameplay took some getting used to, but I liked the scenarios and cutscenes. Fun while it lasted, probably won't play it again.

If ME2 wasn't very, very superb Alpha Protocol would be the best wrpg this gen.  Hugely underrated game.  The only real negatives are the ending is weak, game is kind of short and the gameplay is simple but simple != bad.  It's simple and fun with great witty writing and tons of player choice.  Good voice acting and ok visuals too.

Sucks it was a bomb so no post-release support to smooth things out and sucks that it didn't come with mod tools so players could mess around with it and make it into a polished and more content loaded product.

Will probably replay AP every few years because it's just such a fun ride.

I don't really consider ME2 a wrpg, and still excluding that, I liked games like Fallout 3 more than Alpha Protocol, but I did end up liking it a lot more than most people and prefer it to Mass Effect 1.  I played it a little more than twice already and plan to again later on.  That said, I think it has a lot of problems that may be hard for people to overlook and I totally acknowledge that it does have a lot of problems.   But I still think it was worth it because the good "rpg" stuff was better than a lot of games.

I just mean that you see people saying that the PC version is an entirely better experience.  I don't see how it would be that much different than the console version when it has a lot of console port-y qualities to it.

A lot of the complaints around the game centered on bugs, of which the console version had lots and lots. The PC was smoother and less buggy, makes it much easier to enjoy what's good about the game instead of being constantly irritated. I also think that some people were trying to play it like Mass Effect 2, when it really relies more on being stealthy and using skills.

True about the bug thing.  I did see some reviews for Fallout NV give the PC version a higher score because of that, or some other reason.  I didn't bother to read them.

as for playing it stealthy, I did that the first time through.  The second time I played like a shooter and it was still fine.  Again, it felt better than Mass Effect 1 to me.  Then again, I wasn't a huge fan of ME1 (though I really liked ME2).

I liked the demo, but I don't wanna pay $15 for it. If I don't go anywhere on Halloween, I might buy it and play through it.

done the first 3 dungeon so far,i've used a map to get my way around the first quest and i'm using it here too so i guess that makes the game less tedious

to be fair i don't like most nes games (tough i never played this metal storm you are saying of) i find they can be frustating for the wrong reason, like pick metroid, the fact that you start at 30 health and are supposed to grind your way to full health is maddening to me,plus some of the so called classic are so barebones, you pick zelda and you hear like 2 tunes for the entire game and every dungeon is the same just a different color! i wish every game was like megaman 2,it has a kickass ost and stages that actualy differs!

i was surprised by zelda, some enemies don't respawn when you get killed in a dungeon, even tough you don't start at full health, there is an easy to reach place to refill it all and it has warp points so you don't have to trek all around like an idiot... it's quite un-nes like

Will they send one immediately? I just registered.

They did for me. It was like a couple of steps.

First I registered.
Then they sent me a link and like I officially registered via that.
Then you get your passworld and login and you have to edit your profile.
Then you post in the "I need a key thread" that you need a key.
They will PM you with the info and ask you to edit some things in your profile and then they send it to a section in your control panel.
Took me like 20 minutes total.

The beta file on the 360 is like 1.57 gb.

How does it look?

Also, Crysis MP & Crysis Wars were both pretty bad. Not sure how they can fix it.
It's really early like I said. I assume they will address most of this but lets just say it ain't pretty and the frame rate ain't great. But like I said, I think this is a legit early beta. I think they are still early on the MP side.

At least I got my 120 pt achievement for credit feeding DOOM. Insane game.

What an awesome week this has been between Vanquish, Ketsui, and Meat Boy though. I can't even be bothered to glance at Ninja Blade between all these great games. Stupid From Software. PS3 gets Demon's Souls, the game of the forever, and 360 gets Ninja Turd.

SF4 is not my style of game. Online doesn't add much in fighting games anyway, gameplay wise. Halo Reach and other generic online multiplayer fps games don't interest me anynore.
So yeah, Guardian of Light is the best multiplayer game this year reconfirmed.

I like Crysis SP. But I've never found the MP to be anything I really like. There are a lot of potential if everything worked properly with the suit powers and jumping ability. It has the potential to be like Call of Duty mixed with Halo.

But the beta is a mess and its nowhere near that now. Hopefully they have time to make it credible.

Crysis 1 is one of my favorite FPS games and yeah, the MP isn't good in it.  I remember them trying to push the Crysis Wars with the expansion, but it was still pretty dull.

From what I understand, Crysis 2 multiplayer is being made by free radical.  It doesn't inspire confidence when their last 'realistic' shooter was Haze.

I do want to get Costume Quest eventually.  I enjoyed the demo and thought the writing was pretty funny.  Just the demo was more entertaining than Brutal Legend and Deathspank.

Only annoyance seems to be the audio because there is so little of it.  No voice acting, no gibberish for dialog, not much music, etc.

Yeah, I played like 10 mins the day it came out and the writing was fun but no voice + auto-advance dialogue was a bit of a shame.  I know DF has to be very money careful and the whole point of doing 4 small games instead of 1 big one is to actually make money this time, but is voice acting really that expensive?  Couldn't they just get like their friends to do it?

no voice acting isn't that bad, but the auto-advance is weird.  Comic timing in text doesn't work, and if you're going to write the game in that way, then have voice acting.  Otherwise let me advance it on my own and throw in some gibberish or some noise instead of having the dialog be completely silent.

Game Dev Story is crack. Unfortuneatly I can't afford gamebox development and the Super IES was just discontinued (My ogre rpgs were selling a fuckton on there). However the Game Boy thing is a stable platform that will stick around until the Intendro DS shows up many years from now, so I guess I can stick with that. I can afford PlayStatus development, but then I'd be dangerously close to not being able to pay my staff with what's left. However, the Uranus has slightly more marketshare which is unexpected because otherwise a good way to cheat at this game is to use IRL history to ignore certain platforms. For instance, the PlayGear and NeonGeon are released but don't gain the same traction as the Super IES or Game Boy Thing. I didn't have enough money by the time PlayStatus debuted and I may have waited too long to acquire a liscense. Playstatus 2 should be around the corner.
...

CRACK

Playstatus 2 should be around the corner.
...

Purchased. Thanks for the review. If I am hocking my toaster for updates to this, I will blame you.
