this evoland game is art, playing this game is like truly being in the mind of a twisted fanboy writing the most stupid videogame fanfiction you've ever read

spoiler (click to show/hide)
i joked with a friend that if i had to meet a "sephidorf" or "ganonroth" i would punch a kitten, but behold! it exist! sephidorf is a reality! (actualy it's sephiroth + vaati so it's zephyros) he wipes the party with a kamehameha, then murders the heroine (obviously named xaeris) and clink (GHHHHHHHH) gains the ability to summon babamuth which is samurai bahamuth,i swear i couldn't make this shit up :dead
[close]

EDIT: and it's over :S,was thinking it would be longer... the idea of playing a game were you go through videogames ages is cute (i seems to remember there was another game that tried that but was horrible? i can't remember the name) seeing a game mixing zelda-like action rpg gameplay with turn based gameplay is also fun (you play a-la zelda inside dungeon but fight battles a-la final fantasy in the world map) but between the ultra bad parody of FF7,the enemies ripped from super mario (yes that's what you fight in the final fantasy segments... zombie goomba's) the shortness, and the fact that there is almost no game here (while the zelda part can be almost taken seriously, the final fantasy part involve no equip,no MP,no skill to learn and no party members) it's hard to take this seriously like an actual game... narrating this game is more fun than playing it itself, though if you want to persevere there is a bunch of collectibles to find (including "not-tetra master" cards)

spoiler (click to show/hide)
there is also a dungeon where the game decide to ditch the zelda gameplay and decides it likes to be diablo instead, you get tons of useless trinket, one of them is a minecraft reference for no other reason than reminding you this is a indie game and indie is coolz

I have.

Just finished Walking Dead. The series started off well, but the last 2 episodes were cloying, manipulative, and insulting. The fact that a shitty little flash game I made had more interesting and complex puzzles than this game also really says something. I couldn't recommend this game to anyone, really.

so it was a perfect adaptation of the source material!

i'm level 21 in Skyrim and I feel way underleveled for what I'm fighting.  I'm curious if my rounding out between destruction and one handed may have fucked me a bit here as neither is at this point powerful enough on its own and even now i'm relying on companions and summons more than i expected.

at this level in the fallout games, i was basically a walking god, here i'm still a scrub.  at least i'm not facing bandits in glass armor like in oblivion

its a lot harder to do that with the patches theyve put out since release, but yeah if you want a chance youre gonna have to put work into smithing and armor bonuses. its gonna take a lot more time before youre a superhero.

yeah someone jumped into my game and the lag made it almost unplayable :(

you guys got any tips? Best character? Stats to pump?

I'm having the most luck with Han, as his juggles into hard attacks seem to waste most of the enemies. I should watch some videos of good players for some combo ideas, I guess.

is han the sword dude? hes fine but boring. i like the ninja and sorcerer, and my favorite is serina who is unlocked after beating it once.

also when things are going really bad open the ghost knights menu and select the option on the furthest right. give him a few seconds of space and he'll nuke the whole screen.

hours and hours of Arkham City with the kid yesterday...did the Harley's Revenge DLC, lots of the post-campaign free roam stuff. Soon we will be tackling New Game +. it's repetitive but that's what you want when playing with a kid I guess. (they need time to get confident with the mechanics I've already learned from dozens of other games). Really enjoying it, not sure what is to dislike unless you special fellow out doing Riddler challenges and burn out on it

Don't worry that will get trivial soon enough so leave it alone for now (i.e open the ones you find around the place but don't actively go searching for them yet).

One of the best songs in the game and describes Wei Shen's shenanigans to a tee imo, plus its a nice song to be in a gun/car fight with.

It's unfortunate it was slightly censored though.

So Dragon's Dogma is "ok" -- I initially thought that the people who did play it and hyped it afterward had a point, maybe there was something here.

But there's a lot of issues immediately noticable. Maybe these are fixed in the Dark Arisen expansion.

One of which is the fact that your Pawns wont shut the fuck up.

Fast Travel (or some sort of warping) is needed immensely. All you can do is warp back to the main hub town.

I do love that I can hire these overpowered pawns from my friends who have beat the game. I'm rocking two strong characters who just slap bitches like it aint a thing.

I do like this game though.

That was one of my biggest complaints. You do actually get a fast-travel system, but it's late in the game and is very costly.

You can unlock "waystones" which you can plop down to travel to. This is only in the postgame though. Might as well make the most of all your running around and work on your Notice Board Quests.

You can sit your pawn down on those special chairs at camps/inns and give them "inclinations" (i think thats what they are called) to pipe down a bit. Cant remember the particulars of this stuff, but it's worth looking into as these traits also affect how they perform in battle. You also buy potions to automatically change these things from the camp next to the starting town.

Hire my pawn, she is beast as fuck, and around level 100 iirc. her name is Vanity

I played Zelda 2 last year for the first time with the same goal.   It's pretty dang awesome, though the run up to the last dungeon with the rock throwing dudes is a pain in the ass.   Still, it's my favorite Zelda by far.  Actual risk/reward, level up system, simple but challenging combat, no bullshit rupees to not buy anything with but which are the reward for improvised exploration...all things not in other zeldas.    I'm torn on the overworld though.  The music for the overworld definitely sucks and the enemy spawning for random battles works but is weird.   The spawns should've been toned down.

on the armor guys, you just time it so the slash comes out on the way down from a jump, which will usually hit him.  Takes some practice to get down the right jump height, but is key to keep those fights reasonable, instead of hoping he'll just move his shield for you.
