It's one thing to be a disgusting excuse for a human but at the very least don't fucking advertise it on the Internet. Why people go out of their way to post incriminating shit like that is beyond my comprehension!

...

In other news I'm currently playing: Octodad, NES Remix 2, and Wayward Souls!

Quote from: Amir0x
Well, the entire story is very long and to me not terribly exciting. I went to visit my mom, because that's something I feel I don't do often enough. My mom went upstairs to make a dinner for everyone, because my sister and her soon to be husband was also there. So I was watching an episode of South Park on the tv downstairs. Half way through, my mom calls down and says "give the tv to your sister and your fiancee you don't really need to be watching it on that tv anyway so watch it in my room (my mom's)." So already I was pissed that I had to stop watching the show I was already in the middle of. They could have waited for the 10 more minutes it would have taken to finish, but they didn't want to hear it so after a bit of complaining I moved up stairs to my moms room. But this was trivial shit. But when I was then informed, that my OTHER sister was watching a television show and I would be unable to finish watching the show I was in the middle of downstairs, I got a bit irate.

So I said, "ya know what? **** that guest. I was watching the show, and if he had any common courtesy, he would have waited that ten ****ing minutes to get to watch whatever geeky nerd show he wanted to watch." Then my mom went on about how I should be quiet, because they could probably hear me even though they were downstairs. I said "maybe they should hear me, because this is the house I grew up in, and that fiancee of hers has no say to anything in this house."

To which case she takes a huge purse filled with what must have been an anvil and slams it across my face as hard as she could, apparently because I 'embarrassed' her. When she attempted to slam it across my face again, I jumped in front of her, grabbed her arms and forced her down onto the bed to restrain her from further injury to my person. I told her "I am adult, and I don't live here anymore. You have no right to touch me. If you wanted me to leave, you should have just ****ing said that."

Then my mom went all melodramatic and said how much I hurt her wrists by holding her down since she has lupus, and that it was assault and she was calling the police.

So the police came. As soon as they came, my mom started talking to them and making up all this bullshit about what happened as if I went out and was attacking her. I told the police no, I'm not going to sit here with my mouth shut as she lies about what happened. They said 'sir, if you do not get quiet, I am going to handcuff you and arrest you where you stand.' I replied "You ****ing do that then, you piece of shit Pocono police. This shit is probably the highlight of your do nothing ticket-giving day anyway." That was my exact quote! So they arrested me. My mom, feeling some guilt, asked if there was an alternative to putting me in jail. They said they could bring me to the hospital for an evaluation. Now there's a forceable evaluation, where I am forced to stay for a period of time if the state deems it necessary, or a voluntary one. I told them if they tried to force me to stay, there would be a fight. But of course, the state ruled against my mothers attempt to get me forceably stayed there. So at 3:00 in the morning, I finally was discharged. Problem was, it was 3 o'clock in the morning and my mother had left to go back to my house. And I didn't get to bring my car to the hospital, since I was brought over by the ****ing police. AND i didn't get to bring my shoes, and the hospital couldn't provide my a pair. So I was moneyless, shoeless, AND had no way to get from East Stroundsburg to The Poconos at 3:00 in the morning. Even my best ****ing friends were sleeping by that point, and I DID try to call. So I started walking home. Without shoes, so the pointy rocks and glass and debris on the floor was cutting me up the entire time. I have a huge ****ing injury on my foot now.

Along the way, I got arrested by the police again - this time for hitchhiking on the interstate. They said it would have been fine if I hitchhiked on 611, but apparently there's some different rule here. Whatever, so even though I had just spent 6 hours walking in the direction of the Poconos, they ended up RE-ARRESTING me and this time dropping me off at the salvation army for the night. When I woke up, they gave me a 20 dollar ticket to pick up new shoes at the salvation army and then they would give me a piss test when I came back. I went to the salvation army store, picked up 20 bucks worth of shit and started walking my ass back to the Poconos from East Stroudsburg all over again. This time I made sure I traveled off interstate, so I didn't run into any police. Eventually, after another 3 hour walk, I made it to a bus stop that would have been able to take me to an area close to my house. And with that, I made it back, and that's when I was called my mother about the whole situation and was informed about this whole 90 day jail shit thing. And then, after many more hours, we reached the conclusion I finally spoke about a few posts back..

AND THAT is the entire story, without any exaggeration, from start to end.

and so i pinned down her crippled ass on the bed and said WHY MOTHER, WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME

and then John Law entered the equation and i was all SUCK MY DICK JOHN LAW I DO NOT RESPECT YOU and they arrested me THIS IS ALL MY SISTER'S FIANCE'S FAULT, HE WATCHES NERD SHOWS, VIDEOGAME INTERNET FORUM!

so then i get taken to the hospital without my shoes and i tell them i'll put up a struggle and i get released and all of my friends are asleep so i walk like jesus down the highway and ****ing glass and fire ants and pirahna plants and those big worm things from tremors are cutting the shit out of my feet and i'm hitch hiking and the ****ing cops arrest me AGAIN and take me back to the one police station in town which is like 6 hours barefoot walk away!

so now it's 9am and i don't call my friends because, uh, yeah so anyway i get to buy hobo shoes and i walk onto a bus and make it home

Started playing Zelda 3DS, did the first dungeon.  Wow!  This is actually legitimately good.  Pleasantly surprised.  I still haven't finished 3d World because it's just too much of the same, but this Zelda game feels kind of fresh and the graphics look fantastic (60fps + great vibrant 3d).  The best part so far though has been the music, very great sounding.

Still playing Super Robot Wars Z3-1, about a 1/3rd through now at a little under 40 hours.  Game is solid but it's slowwww and putting 40 hours into a game in 2-3 weeks is burning me out so taking a break a bit and playing some other stuff to refresh gaming batteries.

Tried to play some more of Yakuza/RGG Isshin yesterday but not feeling it really a few chapters in.  Combat and combat upgrade system seems steps back from the old games, and Kyoto is super cramped and narrow with no sense of exploration or adventure.  Just running from cutscene to scene with some short sidequests along the way.  Really just feels like an interactive movie with shitty combat.  Would rather just watch it as a movie I think.  Gonna keep hoping the combat opens up later, but I feel like by splitting the combat into 4 styles, you get 4 shallow combat styles instead of 1 style with some real meat to it.

Yeah it's a nice surprise.  Nintendo has been riding on the whole "same-y same" for a while with their franchises, so it's cool playing something that actually feels a bit new + that Nintendo polish.

The game that plays just like A Link To The Past/Link's Awakening/Oracle games/Minish Cap/Etc. feels new?   :P

It's an awesome, awesome game, but "same-y same" is a fitting description...in a good way.

The game doesn't feel new Bebpo. in fact, a lot of it uses LTTP nostalgia to help solve puzzles, because you have an idea of where things but they're now remixed, so the game can trick you and take advantage of this. But as far as "something new"? Naw. It's LTTP 2, and it's the sequel LTTP deserves, since it's better in every single way.

Something "new" would be a first person Zelda.

I'm playing Future Cop: L.A.P.D.

Game is a hidden gem that came out for the PS1/PC/Mac in 1998. It was originally supposed to be part of EA's Strike series but it evolved into it's own thing. The game's perspective and gameplay is top-down action and has a hover car that transforms into a mech. It's an awesome game that still holds up and features a two player co-op mode that's a blast.

Finally did Episode 3 of Wolf Among Us. A lot more happens in this episode than the previous. Pace really picks up.

I've been playing a good amount of Teslagrad, which I picked up in a humble bundle. I really like the game despite all the constant trial & error insta-deaths. The ability and puzzle logic could be a bit more clear and I'd knock it up a grade on the me scale. Love the music and artstyle and all the Metroid references. It's pretty Metroidy without any of the action elements of those games. The Boss fights are pretty interesting and the only source of combat.

Bought Metal SLug 3, it's 50% off on Steam. Good game, although it seems to be a bit harder than the other Slug games I've played. ALso the Shoot >Em Up sequences are a bit too frequent for my tastes and not very fun.

Finally finished some games I picked up on sale back during Black Friday.

Uncharted 2 & 3 - Played these back to back. Not bad.

The Last of Us - Started off slowly, picked up, and then dragged on. This game does make me want to go out and buy a gun though.

I just started Deception IV. I had the first one when I was younger and have found memories of it. I don't know if I can get past this  ::) art style.

First game made me feel like I was running with the devil, this one makes me feel like I should be on a registered sex offender's list for just owning it.

Liking Metal SLug 3 a lot more after a couple more plays. Only thing I still don't feel is the overly long final level. Feels like it's longer than the rest of the game, but with much less diversity.

I thought the story was super bland as well.  And the gameplay was even more dumbed down and easy than Ys VII.  Everyone really likes Celceta, which kind of surprised me as when I played the import I thought it was the weakest Ys game I'd played.  Very 7/10ish.

Just finished Sleeping Dogs. It was OK. I liked the hand to hand combat and parkour stuff, even though it eventually got repetitive. Without it, this would have been really boring. I did a good amount of side content (got my 'Face' to level 10, did all cop missions, collected all the statues to learn new fighting moves), but stopped as soon as the rewards became worthless, i.e. money only.
Nice to be in a Chinese city for once, but the characters and relationships ultimately weren't that interesting. Wei's increasing dilemma as an undercover cop was well done. For the most part though, I just drove to marker and did the thing.

Well I mean I'm not really good at Ys games and I mostly play them on normal for the quick and responsive action combat. So I'm not privy to the nuances. So I really can't tell that much of difference from 7 and Celceta.

Maybe the story does get better, but to be fair I never thought 7's story got good. I mean I feel like they are trying, it's just the material they are going for just isn't exciting. It dosen't help that the first two major events played out the same basically and everything is pretty cookie cutter. Thats fine, I'm not play these games for a grand story. Just fun combat, which is what they provide.

I haven't played a lot of the Ys games. Just the one's Xseed brought over. 7, Oath, some Origins, and some of 1/2. I have 6 on the PS2, but I haven't gone through it. I find the gameplay very fun, but the story stuff kind of meh. Not a major problem though.

Really enjoying my Vita though. It's a great system. Just wish it had more games. I'm going to pick up Muramasa soon.

Though Sleeping Dogs was rescued from development hell, it is better than to be damned by faint praise.

The game has a more coherent and consistent story than any other open-world game I've played. The game sashays easily between hand-to-hand kung-fu fighting and hardboiled Max Payne-style shooting, decent driving and racing combat, and has plenty of side-quest stuff to do. Unlike other OWGs, has non-immersion breaking, interesting radio stations. The game was easily on par with Saints Row 3, exceeded GTA IV... and was more fun than parts of GTA V.

Open-world games are my favorite genre, and Sleepeh Dawgs is honestly one of my favorite OWGs.

The first thing which struck me was HOW GOOD this game looks. My god, it's not as gorgeous as GTA V, but this is a game from 2008! Wow. Another thing which caught my attention was the GTA V "character transition" of a whooshing zoom-out to the bird's eye view of the city, well, that's here as well. It was here first, and it's like it was lifted wholesale, sound effects and all, into GTA V. I think I'll be playing some more of this while I wait for GTA Online to get its Heist on. Cars have an interesting weight and punch to them, the camera loves to emphasize speed and movement... it's great.

Deadlight - Losing my will to go back to this. I need to wrap it up and get a move on.

WSOP and Zynga Poker: Either I am beginning to suck at poker, or beginning to realize that I've always sucked at poker. Not sure why, but I can't seem to get a break lately.

I am fine for people having opinions and stuff EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE WRONG.

Agree to disagree, I guess. /shrug
I certainly liked how grounded it was (SR wakyness and GTA snark don't really work for me, the former isn't funny and the latter isn't clever) and how diverse the player actions were, but it just didn't click. I doubt I'll remember it a year from now.

Ah, I'm sad that it didn't set you on fire like it did for me.

Your passion has inspired me, chrono. I think I'll play SD after whenever I get bored of Dark Souls 2.

Really glad that there's someone here who likes open world games as much if not more than me in Chrono. I have Sleepy but haven't played yet. Will get to it later this year.

I wanted PC version but my PC stuttered a bit playing the demo. But I'm not sure about ps3 version but got it anyways. Prolly will get to it around Xmas. Nothing coming out that I want this fall so fall will be Samurai Warriors 4/mobile/indie fun time I guess.

Sleeping Dogs is the Bully (that being the underrated, much-better open world game among its peers) of last generation. Makes sense cuz a good chunk of the team that made Bully went on to work on SD. Perfunctory my ass.

I never really saw what was great about Bully. Should give it another chance some time. It's a good game, but "underrated, much better open world game than its peers" wasn't the game I played at all. Especially since about everyone raved about Bully.

Inquisitor or tl;dr - the game. Fucking hell do they love their exposition. You thought Planescape: Torment was wordy? Think again!
Back into the backlog it goes, I've no mind for this shit right now, possibly ever. :holeup
