If you didnt like TLOU this won't change your mind, but if you did this is a little treat.

Edit: finished it already? Dayum way too short. 2 hours max. Bit steep for a tenner. Would recommend buying it on a sale.

I liked Left Behind more than the original Last of Us :P I thought the whole lesbian chicks hanging out in the mall angle was fun and fresh. Although the dlc tried a bit too hard to be Gone Home w/Zombies.

I beat Valkyria Chronicles.

Chapter 17 was a goddamn nightmare.

Also it got way too animu at the end.

Still a fun game with some unique gameplay.

So, let's go to the hard question :
Who were your favorites troopers besides the main cast ?
I liked the morbid shock Jane but also Nina (Butch women  :aah ). The engineers in general were nice.

Playing Neverwinter on the Bone. Pretty fun.

I've been fucking with Halo MCC and sometimes I do good and sometimes I do BAAAAAAAAAD. I am better at Halo 2 Anniversary than Halo 3, which sucks because I vastly prefer Halo 3. It's the GOAT. I stink at 4v4 Halo 3 but BTB is so great.

Wolfenstein The Old Blood isn't as good as the main game but it's fun. It's also hard as balls.

Replaying Gitaroo Man atm and the last boss is killing me. A lot of people say he's easy and that earlier stages in the game are much harder, but I found everything up to the last boss easy (at least on normal). There's this part near the end of the song where they are doing a "Harmony" and I've failed at that same spot countless times now  :lol

Such an amazing game. If you like rhythm games at all you should check out this PS2 classic.

Yeah, the game holds up great.  I remember replaying it through the PSP version and loving it all over again.

Makes me sad what happened to Inis.  This and Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents 1 & 2 are fantastic.

I suggest psp version more than ps2 version due to the nub. It's better for sliding than the ps2 stick.

yeah, gitaroo man is probably the only game that plays better with a nub than stick.  downside is the psp version has an english version of flying to your heart.

the smartphone port of Dragon quest 8 has its problems (mainly that it's optimized like total shit), but it does have some minor tweaks that make playing it a lot more fun. namely that you can now see your skill tree before you level up, the alchemy pot is instantaneous and has a lot of user-friendly ui tweaks, and you can target specific enemies in groups. also ofc the game looks great in hi-rez. not a perfect port but still goddamn I love that I can pay dq8 at a stoplight now.

I think the iOS version of DQ8 is better than the ps2 one. Better UI, no waiting for alchemy pot, better difficulty balance and scaling, dungeons that felt small now feel large due to the vertical viewpoint which forces you to be more proactive in how you explore dungeons out of necessity, faster battles (battles in DQ8 ps2 are awful and slow), faster load times in general, less random battles in general (hence higher difficulty).

The only things that are objectively worse are the graphics and lack of voice acting.

I didn't miss the orchestrated ost, either. It's too bombastic and certain instruments are too loud, taking away from the soundtrack sound quality. The original soundtrack is easily better.

A great example is the battle theme.

Original:

Orchestrated:

I hope to God the 3ds version of DQ8 has orchestrated ost as optional. The orchestrated ost sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom.

agreed on the soundtrack (and everything else in the post). didn't know they changed the difficulty. progress has been way smoother for me, mostly bc I know what skills to go for. haven't got to the hellish mid game boss yet, but I'll be wayyyyy better prepared when I do this time. last time I got stuck there for a week before I could make it past.

Well, when I got a ways into DQ8 ios, I turned on DQ8 for ps2 to compare, and the random battle rate feels much higher. It's not really an advertised feature, but the consequence is a potentially harder game. Or I could be remembering things wrong. DQIV ds/mobile is similar. The world is much smaller than the NES version, so people had to fight a few battles outside of Battle Tournament castle because you fight less compared to the nes version.

The last boss in Axiom Verge is a poorly designed, luck filled, load of horseshit.

What a horrible way to end a pretty good game.

Don't do Raid mode unless you're insane. Also good luck with the first actual "boss." I struggled with it due to it being a bullet sponge with no visible hitstun/reaction.

I do bc stoplights are boring af. also a lot of mobile rpgs have an auto attack option so you can clear easy battles w little effort.

I know I'm a huge doom special fellow, but I thought bfg was a nice improvement our the original, with much faster pushing and better balance. the new campaign was nothing special iirc. the extra doom 2 campaign from the 360 version tho - that was fucking balls to the wall awesome

Game's not real great with that legendary loot tease, tbh.

Rare weapons and armor have tons of upgrade potential, but upgrades require items you can only reliably get by recycling items of the same type and you don't get inundated with trash items to recycle. It's 2015 and this isn't a JRPG, get on my level Bungie.

I'll probably pop it in once in awhile and do a strike since I probably won't be able to get Blands 1 or 2 in the flash sale because Sony hates taking my money. (Srsly PSN Store is fucking :trash compared to XBL Store.)

This is just about the most uninformed and biased Sony simping I’ve ever seen from you.

Cross-system chat? You mean, for example, all the people on PSP and PSV with their chat setup? Or do you mean on PS3, where players can’t even cross-game chat while still ostensibly on the same system?

Xbox Live has its share of increasingly inexcusable connectivity problems, but the Party system at least allows a group to chat no matter what they’re doing.

It's possible the system implementation on Via and PS4 allows a PS3 user into their chat, but last time I was involved with audio TRCs, the PS3 didn't guarantee that users could talk to each other if they were not in the same application.

Right up to the end of MM Legends, was doing all the side quests... trying to A rank the technical race course is a pain in the ass tho :P

Also playing on my friend's NES cart that allows you to plug in a Compact Flash card. We played Gun Nac (pretty good Compile shooter, one of the top shooters on the NES), also Panic Restaurant (pretty good), Power Blade 2 (ehhh...), and some Trolls (yes the 90's fad trolls) game with music much better than it has any right to be. Also said friend got a Lynx and I was playing Roadblasters. My first time even playing the system, I'd imagine I'd be much more impressed in 1990 when comparing to the original DMG.

So like two years ago I got NHL 09 and Madden 08 on Origin for like $1 combined. And I was waiting at Target for prescriptions the other day and played a little NHL 15 on the Xbox One demo kiosk. So later I saw it in my library and was like, lets play a little of that. And installed Madden at the same time because why not.

Madden 08 has four separate commentary tracks that will all play over each other.  :lol

And if you try to run it on Windows 8 or 8.1 it tells you to use Windows 98SE, 2000, XP or newer. That said it has native support up to 1920x1080 which is pretty cool considering these were semi-abandoned ports of semi-abandoned PS2 versions. And it's actually got quite a lot of graphics options.

NHL 09 on the other hand has two resolutions. Two. 800x600 and 1024x768.  :dead

I know for a fact that NHL 2002 (and probably 2000) has like 20 options or more and I'm pretty sure those include 16:9 ones. Gameplay is alright tho if quirky. Probably should just find my 2002 discs or pirate it.

Madden is Madden, though another shocking thing is that it has 360 controller support, including icons for passing and stuff. Seems like it has higher resolution textures than would have been on the PS2 version too, and not just because game is running higher resolution, but like they stuck the larger size textures they work from in the game.

It also has these incredibly strange "bonus" stadiums and one is like set in hell or something. :lol

I grouped with people a couple times when I played Warframe. Everybody just did their thing, for the most part silently. That was near release though, dunno how much the game has changed and if it requires more communication now.

I want to get further but I feel like my starter frame (Volt) might not have the chops to solo much more of the game.

My addiction to being a glass cannon while hating to socialize/cooperate is #struggle in MMO games. :shaq2

Nah Volt can be pretty good but (like this game most of the time) you need the right mods (same for your weapons until you get better ones).

Use his electrical abilities to stun/damage and his speed to get away, also you can shoot through the shield he makes and it will make the shots more powerful.

If you want another frame to help in getting through then try to get Rhino since he's basically a tank (can have very high shields plus he has an ability called Iron Skin that gives him additional armor on top of that which the enemies must deplete first before the attacks touches your shields)

Yea that still happens with public games but it all depends on what type of mission are you doing (defense and survivals can require it since you need to work together to survive, especially in the higher levels due to the stronger enemies; along with the first raid they just added (that supports up to 8 people).

You can get some social people but its usually they do the job, maybe say a gg/thanks then they leave the squad.

Joining a clan mitigates that a bit, especially if the clan is somewhat serious. (eg the one i'm in requires you to be on teamspeak so you can communicate with the other members generally or during missions and if you want to go alone or be away you go into an area that makes it known to everyone else so they don't bother you, etc)

Xbl sucks

At least on psn you can chat across all systems

This is just about the most uninformed and biased Sony simping I’ve ever seen from you.

Cross-system chat? You mean, for example, all the people on PSP and PSV with their chat setup? Or do you mean on PS3, where players can’t even cross-game chat while still ostensibly on the same system?

Xbox Live has its share of increasingly inexcusable connectivity problems, but the Party system at least allows a group to chat no matter what they’re doing.

Is it? Im sure ive had a party chat across ps vita, ps3 and ps4.

It's possible the system implementation on Via and PS4 allows a PS3 user into their chat, but last time I was involved with audio TRCs, the PS3 didn't guarantee that users could talk to each other if they were not in the same application.

Hmm I have to admit I don't know that for sure.

Thanks for the help, Purple. I love Volt's shield, damage enhancement and protection. :lawd
