That's a long way to go, but I gotta say, it's worth it. The level of competition is exponentially better in G1. Just playing a few matches upon getting there I've already seen a ton of stuff I haven't seen people do before. And the backdash skills, oh my. I need to practice more before I can take on some of these folks.

They got that shit working with Mechwarrior 4 and Freespace 2. I always wanted to try playing a real futuristic combat simulator with that controller, but never had the chance.

It's kind of the opposite of KH 352. KH was ALL FILLER and no story; this is no filler and ALL STORY.

Bebpo's screenshots look pretty good. The game reminds me of a typical Square PS2 game, which is what I'd expect out of it.

The in-game screenshot feature gimps the screenshots at like 320x280. The actual game at 640x480p looks a hell of a lot better. I think Square didn't want user screenshots to compete with their PR screenshots.

The graphics are nothing like RE now that I've played RE. RE is a jaggy choppy ugly game. FFCC & Mario Galaxy are the only Wii games that don't hurt your eyes if you go from playing X360 games to them.

I'm on the last mission of Brütal Legend. While the previous two RTS sequences played like RTS, this one is a scripted sequence where the battle unfolds in steps, and at Step 2 and 3 the enemy gets NN units of $VeryBigMonster. In short, instead of maintaining the RTS land-grab/resource-denial mentality, I have to abandon what I've learned, entrench, tech-up, and play a long fight. It took me 5 attempts to learn that pattern exists -- hopefully tomorrow I'll have the patience to apply it.

If I'm going to be kind, the bad guy is in its seat of power, and it makes sense in the story that its resources are not following normal rules. I can also allow that this is how any RTS singleplayer experience crafts its later levels. But I'm still a little annoyed.

Probably finish tomorrow or Monday which appears to be a holiday. Not sure how much I'm going to mop up the collectibles; a couple are easy but I'm only 2/3rds of the way through the 120 dragons... and I'd rather not grow to hate this game over 1 missed dragon.

Tekken 6 and SF4 PS3. Me n' Bebpo played some rounds on Tekken 6, but I had to cut it short. Now I'm playing SF4....weird night; I have only fought ONE RYU so far!

And of course it was a lag-filled match where I lost to the dumbest shit ever. :'( Kind of hard to do anything when you're blocking and the ultra hits you anyway.

The one that fixes weapon/magic leveling and makes enemies hit harder? I didn't know about it until I got to Crustacia after the volcano, and I tried to apply it then but it didn't seem to take effect. I only just got to the trading place, so I'm thinking about starting over and trying it out. Have you played through with it?

Well supposedly it does. What I gather from the guy's Engrish is that he attempted to maintain the level of difficulty in the beginning of the game by tweaking defense gains and enemy damage. The only thing it "fixes" is the distinguished mentally-challenged grindfests required for new alchemy and weapons (which, by the way, comparably makes FF6 esper grindan negligible

).

Played a bunch of SF4 last night. There was a mini-tourney for the PS3 version I took part in. Less than 16 players. Got kicked out kinda early; lost in my second match to the guy that won the whole thing, then in the losers' bracket, I lost to a guy I'd never played before who was using Vega. The problem was due to some input lag going on. I got "revenge" playing him in casuals afterwards. We went random, and he didn't win against me once. We also had the most epic Gouken vs. Gouken match; this was easily the absolute WORST lag I have ever experienced, but we toughed it out and played anyway. All three rounds, we finished each other with Ultras, which took like a minute to come out and finish. It was hilarious.

I'm listening to the Silent Hill Wii ost and it's pretty solid. Better than the Homecoming soundtrack for sure. Game seems more strange & sexy than terrifying going by the music. Looking forward to how it's used in the game.

Samurai Warriors 2 (360) - I kept saying I need 3 or so more characters to beat but I keep unlocking more of them. According to the achievements, I got about a half dozen more to unlock. This one is going to take me about 60 hours to beat like DW Gundam.

Warriors Orochi 2 (360) - I usually don't play Musou games back to back but I was just screwing around a little here. I'll probably play Lost Odyssey next, whenever that comes in.

I tried playing FFXII for a bit since I purchased it a while back, never started, and the XIII hype got me interested for whatever reason. Square really love having a shit pace for the start of their stuff don't they? Also this game looks like shit on a HD set. I beat Mirror's Edge, and it was a pretty fun game except for a couple of ridiculous spots. I started playing Final Fantasy VII and this is the first time I've been able to make it out of Midgar. Outside of Barrett being kind of amusing, the game isn't really grabbing me. I just ordered Dragon Age, so the temptation to dump FFVII will probably be pretty high
