oooh there's now a demo for this
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1179210/Kill_It_With_Fire/
Quote
The spider - mankind’s most ancient and deadly nemesis. As a licensed Kill It With Fire exterminator, it’s time to fight back! Assemble your arsenal of increasingly excessive weapons, track spiders across suburbia, and burn everything in your path!

To defeat spiders you must exploit their one weakness: FIRE. Or bullets. Or explosions, throwing stars, gettin’ smushed by stuff...pretty much anything, really. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy - first you’ve gotta find the spiders. Use state-of-the-art arachnid tracking technology to pinpoint your quarry’s location among hundreds of potential hiding spots - then, torch everything and smash the spider with a frying pan after it runs out. It’s the only way to be sure.

Features
Dozens of weapons.
Creepy crawlies.
“Realistic” fire simulation system.
Gratuitous chaos and destruction.
Finally learn the truth about spiders.

as a bit of a follow up, the Kill It With Fire demo has like one tutorial stage and three whole regular stages and was ~30 min of play for me, others are saying ~45 min as some of the clues/goals can be a bit obscure at first, I did try to open a door for a few minutes before realizing the number on it was how many spiders I needed to kill first then I figured the rest of the mechanics were similar

you get a bunch of the weapons to play with, a variety of spiders, different locations including kitchen, garage, etc. during the demo

I did not manage to kill a single one with a throwing star, I did get one with the pistol though

was a pretty good demo, though maybe I got my fill on it for now, unlike BarnFinders which I just wanted more of after doing the demo

the forums have people bitching about the framerate and such but I didn't see anything at all problem wise on that front, I'm still on a 1060 6GB too so dunno

You do however need to keep the UWP version for about 15 minutes after starting the Steam version to link your account if you put in any progress into the UWP version to link accounts, however. :doge

It's being advertised as a standalone expansion that is separate from PS02, with overhauled graphics and gameplay. Characters can be swapped back and forth between the two games.

Since regular PSO2 is going to be updated to the new engine but keep all of it's content NG is sort of both things. :-[

Fun little Stardew Valley-like, though it has more of an emphasis on building up your town. Worth giving a look at if you like those kinds of games.

I have  a feeling sneaking feeling that was fixing the Bethesda game loss glitch that happened yesterday where certain Bethesda published games that are on sale would disappear from your library and you couldn't play them but they'd still show as in library on the store page.

My Wolfenstein II disappeared yesterday.

It's back now.

That was probably one of the biggest steam fuckups in recent memory since millions of users lost access to their games, so it makes sense they'd jump on fixing it ASAP and it probably needed a server reboot/update or something.

I saw the Era thread on this and it looks sooooo up my alley. An actual legit good srpg with good animu story and nice art??
But they're saying the campaign is like 100 hours long which I don't want to get into right now. That is a lot of fucking time. TO/FFT and stuff ain't that long and are like 50 hours. 20-50 hours is a good time to devote for an rpg/srpg. Anything over 60 hours and you better be Persona good to be worth the time investment.

Says August 2020. Epic exclusivity was for a year, so August 27 should be the end of that.

Indie RPG from some French devs who are heavily inspired by Final Fantasy [they also wrangled a few musical tracks out of Yasunori Mitsuda]:

It's been on Early Access for a while, and people seem to like it, but it's finally hitting beta in the next few weeks.

That walking animation  :'(

Like for a game where you are spending most of the time watching the character walk, you'd think they'd spend a little more time on the animation for that.
